Apple products are fine, apple as a CORPORATION is a problem. I like my macbook and imac and and stuff but apple as a COMPANY are going completely downhill.

I installed the newest android version on my nexus 5 and I've only experienced a couple small bugs. Nothing major. ios 8 has had like 4 or 5 updates and they still can't make a good os.
Quite a few people installed iOS 8 and also experienced a few small bugs, nothing major.

Yah but how does it make apple LOOK that they need to release 5 updates to ios 8 just to fix bugs whereas google hasn't even released any updates to 5.0 yet except for the tablets for 5.0.1.

How many devices run the latest Android release, and when was it released?

Have all iOS updates been for fixes? And is it better to fix things and release more fixes than to leave them them there and not release them (Android can have various issues as well, they might just not be getting fixed for now)?

Quite a few sides to it all, not just one extreme or the other.

Edit: Looking at Google's own tracking at https://developer.android.com/about/dashboards/index.html it seems that the latest version doesn't even show up as having any reflected usage at all. That on its own pretty much covers it all right there.

That's because google has only been releasing 5.0 slowly only for the past few weeks. And only to nexus devices. Whereas other os's release their os to everyone all at once.

And that's what I was referring to--comparing that to iOS is an apples to oranges type of comparison (pun intended).

again, a lot of BS.

where did users complain about a "nightmare of bugs"? please provide links.

The web is full of complains about lollipop.
The most bugged Android version released so far..... And I use it since 1.5

They are releasing it ridiculously slowly on a very controlled number of known devices, and the os is buggy as hell nevertheless.

That says me Apple is much more active than Google in solving bugs.
I'm very happy when I'm updating my software, because I know they are trying to improve it.

Am I the only one who likes iOS 8?

Yep.... You and just a few millions others :D

D

And still no proof of that

The web is full of complains about iOS 8, the web fas full of complains about iOS 7, the web was full of complains about Kit-Kat.

Lollypop is not more buggy than iOS 8 or Kit-kat.

Interesting. Since Apple makes the Software and hardware these numbers don't surprise me

Android may appear to be more buggy, but I contend a lot of that has to do with OEM software or just the new OS.

Sorry but I can't keep going on with the conversation, without being banned.
Today I was reported, by you or someone else, and I discovered that in English "apologist" is an insult, so I don't want to insult anyone.
Very interesting place, this forum. I can learn a lot of new things about English.
Happy weekend to you and all the Android lovers (is it an insult? Let me know and I will edit my post).

Ah, sorry: written on my Nexus 7, just to be clear.

Just do a google search for bugs on ios vs android 5.0. There are worse bugs on ios 8 than there are on android 5.0. Do you even read the internet?

And who decided what is the worst bug? You?
The only reason why you find more complains on the web is because lollipop is installed on a ridiculous number of devices, while iOS 8 is well widespreaded.

I've had NO issues with Lollipop on any of my Android devices. In fact Apple had to pull one iOS 8 update because of a bug. No software or OS is perfect but Lollipop so far has been as expected, no issues for me.

Sure, people use the phones differently. But you move away to use something, there are various options on the screen within the call that you might need/want to use, even actual numbers to enter some account number or PIN or something else like that. I can see that it might be harder to use the smaller button simply because one needs to be more precise/deliberate about the action of using it, but what I'm saying is that that very thing is what can be seen as better usability design where a single-use-action button (that carries more power in it as far as starting/ending something) is something that would need more of a precise/deliberate action. Again, that might not be for everyone, and some might certainly want things just to be even over-simplified for them because it works for them, but in the overall usability for all types of users it can have more positives than negatives as far as what kind of thinking might have gone into it.

The thing is, did anyone complain about the button being too big to begin with?
They simply changed it for form over function. There is nothing to deny about it.
It was working fine until they changed it to make it worse off which is quite often the case with Apple lately.

The update didn't have a bug, the update script did...very different. They released the exact version with a new script.

IOS 8.1.2 is fine for me, also, use a web search you can find anything you want about bugs in every piece of software.

And I agree if lollipop is good for you that's what counts; but that doesn't mean there aren't ant posts about bugs.

Not sure i'd call the WiFi issues "small bugs", nor the BT problem minor, nor the safari issues. All of which i have had. At first launch 8.0 was a complete mess and you couldn't do basic stuff like airplay from a MAC to ATV. The landscape bug is annoying as hell too and no idea whats happened to the battery post upgrade.

What I was saying there is that a lot of people didn't experience those issues or were affected by them to a noticeable degree that would at least annoy them. Sure some people have had and still have issues (as is the case with many updates in the past in general).
