But some of us (majority) prefer safari on IOS.
Grayscale mode could be interesting if it allows a dramatic improvement in battery life.
- I just want Photos to allow me to create folders and actually move photos to those folders and not have them be a 'shortcut' to the real photos folder.
Why it's at least a year behind the others, it's as bad on mobile as it is in MacOSX.
I don't get why I see people saying bad things about the gray scale mode. It will significantly improve battery life when it's on. iOS caught up, and passed android. Good job Apple!
Chrome for iOS has had this feature for 2 years now. It's great that Safari will get this in a couple of months, I'm just saying that you could have saved yourself years of frustration.
Untrue. iPhones don't have amoled screens that work like that.
...Such a shame its flagship product gets worse every time...![]()

I dont get this greyscale mode use, why am i lacking something.
What is the purpose of grayscale mode? Is it easier on the eyes?
I find it pointless, what exactly is the point? aside from saving a tiny amount of ram?
It's an Accessibility feature. It's not for any of those things. So in effect Apple has copied to "loo" of Samsungs power saving, but for Apple's screen tech it will make no difference what so ever. It's just a visual effect.
As Samsung uses AMOLED screens that does save battery doing this.
Exactly.Really love the last few comments about how people 'don't get' grey-scale mode.
It is an accessibility feature. It's function is to make the device more accessible in exceptional circumstances, to a greater variety of users.
A lot of people with iOS 6 on their iPhone 4 phones, for example, would disagree with that when they were left with a large security hole and now non-functional FaceTime that they could only fix by upgrading to the latest OS version.Hm, then don't update to the latest software? It's not like your current software will stop working.

Samsung didn't invent that.Samsung should sue Apple for the "grayscale mode"...![]()
Samsung didn't invent that.
OK, Apple must have patented those then. Did Samsung patent grayscale mode?Neither did Apple invent the rectangular slate or slide to unlock or universal search but that didn't stop apple from suing.
What they really need is a global 'night vision' mode, where everything is red. Astronomy apps typically offer this, but if you're out and need to switch apps, take a call or whatever, you get blinded by the white light and lose your night vision again.

I almost think that in a lot of cases they think that it's something other than what it is (like dark mode or something like that, which it really isn't).Honest question:
Can someone tell me why peoples are so happy/excited for greyscale mode?
