Wifi-calling? As a part of iOS 8? Isn't that really what Facetime-audio is? Unless you're talking about the wifi-calling of Yosemite which really only redirects the call from the phone to your mac by wifi.

You will be able to make non facetime voice calls with it.

These new features in iOS 8 are awesome! I like the QuickReply feature for texting. Hopefully the next keynotes will feature hardware from here on out.

Let me know when Android has as good security as iOS does.

Thanks-

Wish Apple would focus on the somewhat annoying issue of "Other" data building up on iOS devices. Wish there was a way to manage that or have a built in system to handle it.

Yes, my thoughts exactly.
I have had ICE contact in my phone since years, but now when i lock my phone, its more or less useless. Sure they can use my fingerprint, but it really should be usable from the lock screen, thats the whole point really.

My guess is there will be an option on the lock screen so anyone can access the emergency ICE card. Pretty easy solution?

Hey, Siri

"Hey, Siri" sounds interesting. As I understand it, it'll let you activate Siri without touching your iPhone, which would come in very handy in the car. But that means it'll always be listening. I wonder how much of a battery life hit that will cause.

Will Trolls say anything original any time soon?

To be fair, a number of the features announced today have been in Android for years and have been missing from iOS for way too long. But as they say, better late than never.

Swiftkey is on its way..... rejoice! Hopefully some of the Android hand writing input extensions too (there are some which are simply amazing).

It's going to be a great update, 10x ("ex" really? the word is "times"!) better than the iOS 7 "flat" update, this is a real user experience improvement.

It only works when charging so I think the battery will be OK.

Wow. This is so handy. I was skeptical at Apples direction with 7, but 8 just blew me away. Teamed up with 10.10, I was excited about Apples direction again.

And... THIRD PARTY KEYBOARDS!!!!

It's on the list.

Look at the 2nd row, on the left.

I see it now. Thanks, makes my purchase a lot easier if iOS 8 w/ an iPhone 6 (5.5 or 4.7, yet to be determined on my end since nothing official yet.) I have to see what Google does w/ Lollipop or the sequel to Android 4.4/Kitkat and what Samsung releases in their Galaxy Note 4.

This is just Apple's way to determine if any app is causing the battery drain. I doubt it will expressly indicate the OS is the issue.

I would be pleasantly surprised if it shows things like screen, wifi, and cellular standby for battery drains.

At least this way I can show my wife what is killing her battery (facebook).

I doubt it, considering this site and it's users go ballistic every time someone copy's Apple, I've even seen racist comments on here towards China/ Korea that never got removed, then yeah as Apple has basically now done the equivalent of getting an Android SDK and sticking a pretty face on it, then no they won't go away.
You only have yourselves to blame.

On topic..

Battery usage by app I find to be pointless, not sure how long Android has had this but I have never used it, more one for troubleshooting really.

The one feature I was really hoping to get some kind of hint to that I didn't see in the keynote was something like f.lux native to iOS.
