I try to use Launcher shortcuts that are actually useful. A shortcut to launch an app is not useful. It's just as quick to tap the app icon. Anyways, I have found the URL for Siri useful, as I have reasons to toggle her on and off Frequently. Here's the URL:
prefs:root=General&path=SIRI
I also use ProCamera 8 + HDR as my default camera. Here's the Launcher URL for this Camera app. The last word can be changed to the setting in the camera you want. So...
ProCamera 8 + HDR
procamera://photo
procamera://video
procamera://HDR
Thanks for the great link to the Siri link.
I submitted it also to Greg from Cromulent Labs via e-mail to add in the app Settings so other users can also find it in the app soon.
I also send the ProCamera suggestion (app only)
to Cromulent Labs.
I will suggest to Greg that he should also add the specific direct settings to photo, video, HDR.
I also added these links to the start topic post.
If anyone's using the Be Weather app here's the Launcher shortcut.
Beweather://
There's a free version and a paid version, I only have the paid version so not tried the free with the same shortcut.
Great weather app by the way and has now taken the place of the stock weather app.
Thanks. I just added it also to the start topic and
submitted it to Launcher so it will become available (with icon) ASAP.
The URL scheme also works with the free version of BeWeather. I love the widget of BeWeather. It only lacks worlwide minute by minute (rain) forecast for e.g. the Netherlands. But we have alternatives in the Netherlands also as a widget.
For the Dutch people out there. I also added regenmelding:// and buienalarm:// as a suggestion to Cromulent labs.
Launcher+ UI looks nicer compared to Launcher which is very basic. But some of the custom URL shortcuts don't work in Launcher+, even for Systems app like Battery Usage.
Original Launcher was a good idea and got a head start, but its not been updated since Apple approved it. Also their privacy policy, data sharing looks shady even in the pro version.
May be competition will force updates...
I agree the UI looks nicer compared to Launcher.
I haven't had the issues you are having with Launcher+ related to settings such as Battery usage. These are working in the widget both on my iPad mini2 and iPhone 5s running both on iOS8.3.
I did found out that 'Settings > Background App Refresh' is missing in the Launcher+ app (ofcourse you can add it manually). Also Siri is missing in both apps and this can ofcourse also be manually added.
I'm beta testing for a while for Launcher and i expect it will become available ASAP for all users. It has a major fix for e.g. iPhone 5s users which have set their icons to the smallest size. See also earlier in this topic my posts about this problem.
Disagree. Competition is good. Keeps devs updating and enhancing their apps. Some of these 'copy cats' even have better features, such as finer control of icon sizing.
I love Launcher and even paid for pro, but for sake of conversation, how is Launcher+ not as good? As alluded to earlier it even has better icon sizing control than Launcher, and also gives unique icons to many of the system settings. An argument can be made that it's better than Launcher.
I agree that Launcher+ has a better option to size the icon, however it has fewer icons to show if you set it to the smallest size (which i like).
Launcher (original) iPhone 5s: 6 icons per row
Launcher+ (copy cat) iPhone 5s: 5 icons per row
Launcher (original) iPad mini2: 10 icons per row
Launcher+ (copy cat) iPad mini2: 8 icons per row
But i must say that the current version in the App Store from Launcher (original) has a bug in it which causes that you cannot press the icons on the far left (as discussed before in this topic). This is resolved in Beta testing which is in final stage. I hope that Cromulent Labs will soon launch this final version for everyone.
I agree that it's nicer in Launcher+ to have already a predefined icon for e.g. WIFI so you won't have to set it yourself.
I just
noticed that the Pro version is temporary on sale for 1,99 euro/dollar in e.g. US and Dutch App Store.
