They still work but the apps will not detect 3rd party apps. You need to go into the list of all apps and find the one you want. You will get a warning that it is not installed, even though it is but it works fine after this.
I did what you suggested and while I could add the Amazon app to launcher, I was unable to do the same with launch center pro.

Either way, thanks for the heads up.

Some more custom URLs. I already submitted them to Greg. The previous list i submitted here was already added to Launcher.

Launcher Pro (a look a like of the real Launcher) is now renamed to S Launcher and now also has Apple Watch support. It has a nice option to show permanent small icons for quick settings (e.g. WIFI, notifications) which you can now also adjust. It's free and has no ads. Besides the real Launcher app you now also have some great alternatives such as this one and iLauncher and Go Launcher. See for details the start topic post.

Is there any way to make a scheme for Numbers? I tried but didn't know if anyone else had any ideas.

I'm afraid there aren't any for the below as Greg from Cromulent Labs also indicates on his website:
Safari (unable to launch without a URL)
Messages (can only launch to compose new message screen)
Camera
Contacts
Calculator
Health
Pages
Numbers
Voice Memos

You could try this solution mentioned within the iLauncher app to get an URL scheme for an app but i'm afraid that Launcher (from Greg, Cromulent Labs) already tried this with e.g. Numbers. I haven't tried it yet. If you found any please share them with us here. Thanks.

Is it possible to start a call to a specific contact via Facebook messenger?
I know it's possible to send message.

Why are the quick settings icons right aligned? Looks strange.

I know it's possible to send message.

It's not yet in the current version of Launcher.
I don't know if there is a short url (url scheme) for calling a contact via Facebook messenger. I would also love to see such an option with WhatsApp which now also supports calling.

I did find the below links about Facebook messenger but i don't know how to add a specific user to call and to know what their unique number or name id is?

fb-messenger://call (Android or universal?)
link 1, link 2, link 3, whatsapp url scheme info (nothing about calling unfortunately)

I did send a suggestions to Greg from Launcher to see if they can find out more.

Ask the developer. It seems odd indeed.

I added another list of URL schemes for chat/call apps to the topic start post.
I've also added two options of which one was already mentioned here to get the URL scheme of apps. Unfortunately you either need Terminal or a desktop/laptop with iTunes to try it.

If someone know what the URL schemes are for e.g. calling with Facebook messenger, WhatsApp, Hangouts (Google) i would love to know how (and so would Greg from Launcher). I already tried quite a few but it wouldn't work.

I would also love to know what the url scheme is for Google Hangouts to send an (already created) message to a specific contact.

Some random musings from someone that has used a number of these launchers: they all take the same basic approach of left aligned icons that can be resized. I wish someone would offer more customization. If I only set up 3 icons, let me center align them. Maybe I just want one app, so let me have one (short) button that goes full width. I think there is a missed opportunity for an app maker to different themselves with more options for layout.

Fairly sure you can provide feedback to at least some of the developers.

I think we could see those options in future versions (i hope) with e.g. Launcher, S Launcher, iLauncher, GoLauncher. This one has the option to change each icon separately. Unfortunately it lacks quite a few other features that the other three do have. It would also be nice to see the category option in the above Launcher. Only Quick-tap has that right now.

Like this? :p You can use a transparent PNG, but you can't use labels.

Nicely done. Something like that would be nice. It would then also be great to change the size per icon as the mentioned app can.

Is it a blank/transparent icon used to shift other icons and if so then what URL scheme to use for this transparent icon and what happens if you happen to click on the transparent icon. Also how do you create a transparent icon?
There were some ways to arrange icons on the homescreen in any order using transparent icons, but if you happen to touch on the wallpaper not knowing that there is actually icon, it would trigger safari to launch.. kind of annoying.

I created the transparent icon in Pixelmator. If you save out a copy of it on iOS, and save as PNG, it retains the transparency.

I'll post it when I get to a computer. Tapatalk changes it to a JPG.

If you add a | right after the :// of whatever it won't be clickable and won't throw up a error.

Right, here we go...

Save the attached to your camera roll. When you add it to Launcher, it'll appear black (and not white - that would mean it wasn't transparent!). Technically, you can already go without an image, but the way Launcher does it is that it adds dotted lines. Doing it this way makes it work like in my screenshot.

You still have to use a valid URL scheme - "://" is as basic as it gets, but it throws up a error, so you want to put a "|" so it just stalls.

It won't exit from the Today screen either.

For those of you that are using Workflow stuff, there is a current bug in their newest version where the URLs aren't working and crash the app when you load it. You have to add a &id=a at the end of the "Workflow Name" field for now.

Are the custom URL schemes in Launcher Pro able to toggle the toggle switches in Settings ala the buttons that Apple has placed in the Control Center? Specifically, in iOS 9 I am hoping to create a shortcut that will activate the Low Power Mode. I can get to the proper battery screen, but can't figure out how to toggle it, if even possible.

Launcher Pro (paid version you mean i suppose) does not offer an option to toggle a switch. Launcher and other widgets can only link to a specific settings area in which you can see one or more toggles. You can't however change them by simply pressing once on the widget icon i'm afraid.

I sure hope that Apple will still give the Low Power Mode also an URL scheme but i'm afraid not.
The whole way URL scheme works is totally different in iOS9 as i'm being told.

Added the setting for the new Battery section in settings in iOS 9. Handy for getting to Low Power Mode switch quickly.

This is the battery usage I had before 9. Is it no longer valid?
prefs:root=General&path=USAGE/BATTERY_USAGE

I use Launcher all the time and especially the Battery Usage.

I also would like to update to IOS 9 when its released but fear for the compatibility issues.

What's everyone else's views?

Stick with IOS 8** (fully working Launcher)

Or

Update to IOS 9 and wait for Luancher update (and will it ever be fully IOS 9 compatible?)

Thanks guys

It's on the main battery usage page so it seems:

For now i would say to wait with switching to iOS9 if you use Launcher widget all the time. I have read in this topic that it already should work correctly with iOS9. I did notice a Testflight request to test again a version and that has also some iOS9 fixes i think.

It seems that you do need to approve each and every app / setting URL scheme the first time when you use it see also this tweet discussion.
