If I wanted straight functionality, I'd just go android. Almost feels like a bastardized fake version of a real thing.

No

And I blame Tim Cook 100%. If that guy had ONE JOB, it's to keep the core talent from leaving apple. Just piss all over everything Steve worked for all these years *******.

If you think Tim has only one job, you are mistaken. In fact, Tim was instrumental in Apple's success since the mid-late 90s. He was the logistical genius behind getting apple profitable. No, he's no Steve. He has people like Jony for that.

And having been using Mavericks since DP1, I'm glad the Forrestal factor is gone.

Steve's plan with the 4 years of products didn't involve firing his mini me Scott Forstall, who was in charge of the design of ios....Steve didn't have Jony design software which makes you say hmmmm.

4 years of products, maybe, but as far as software design, would have been collaborated with Forstall, and was most likely all thrown out with his departure.

As crazy as Steve was in matching the leather in his plane, and Steve's love of making technology more closely resembling real life, like page flips, knobs, buttons etc... I could never believe his pipeline included firing Scott, and allowing Jony to UI design.

ios 7's (design) is completely new and wasn't remotely part of any of Steve's pipeline, functionality maybe, design, nope.

I'm rooting for the new ios, in some ways the new Apple is more open to ideas , but saying no is also important.

Steve specifically said he didn't want the company to be run as Tim thought he would have wanted. He said he wanted them to run it for themselves.

That said, I do think Apple has lost its sense of direction since Steve's sad death. They used to be so sure of what they were doing and they used to lead the industry. Now it looks like they're just following Android.

I'm absolutely serious. It was mentioned before by I believe Tim Cook.

And yes I'm well aware that Steve planned on having Scott Forstall there but it's safe to assume he had input into iOS7.

I don't think he did. It's far too different from previous iOS releases.

He didn't. iOS 7 represents everything he hates.

iOS7 is fine. I don't feel real strongly one way or another. But I often think if iOS7 had been the original design and then the previous design had come out now (skumorphism) I feel like people would be absolutely flabbergasted with how rich and beautiful everything looked, they'd think it was a huge improvement. Of course this will be followed by 20 posts denying that but whatever.

Yeah I think that's wishful thinking. I actually think Steve contributed very little to Apple towards his end. He had cancer. A very painful disease that resulted in his death. I find it hard to work with a mere headache.

If Steve really was the painless tech innovating warrior you think, providing a four year cheat sheet for Apple whilst fighting a terminal illness, I would be very impressed.
