No that video is nonsense, those settings will not be interfering with the Youtube app.

I tried his setting I have an iPad Pro 11 and an iPad Pro 11 and I am a YouTube premier account holder my videos on both devices go as max as 1080 P I have updated both devices to IOS14. this sucks

Its not an issue with your device it is Youtube doing whatever it is they're doing that keeps disabling it

Well this is fun, having had 4K/HDR videos working for a couple of weeks, just fired up YouTube and I'm back down to 1080. WTF are they doing?

Same thing here on my iPhone XS Max. Had 4K and 1440 for weeks, thought it was finally here to stay. Now that iOS 14 is released, I can’t get it on my account or in incognito. Sigh.

I believe, Google will be releasing an app update. Google mentied 4k on the Apple TV in a tweet reply, so i'm going to assume that the Youtube app will be updated to support higher resolutions.

Back in the day Even 4 inch devices could support 1440p resolutions on YT,

I hope we can have 4K on 4.7 inch iPhones even if it downsizes I’d rather have the extra quality in that screen size

Has anyone been able to watch content in HDR trough the native YouTube app from a 2018 iPad Pro running the iPad OS 14.2 Beta? I haven’t seen this feature on my 11’ 2018 Pro since 14.0 Beta 1 and am no longer running the beta software.

i only have 4k HDR on iPhone 11 Pro on iOS14, but not on iPad Pro 12.9 2018.

Same situation here🙁 It’s annoying because I had this feature on my IPad previously. I even updated to Ipad Os 14.2 beta 1 still with no luck.

Last week when I had the beta version of iPadOS 14 I had the option on same videos for having 2160p but now I have the final version it has disappeared on the same videos it was their before on my 2020 iPad Pro. Any ideas please?

The only videos I can get it to work with on my iPhone 11 Pro max are show case videos for HDR and 4K. Completely useless as I'd never watch those videos. I can't get it to work at all with my iPad pro or iPad mini.

Last week when I had the beta version of iPadOS 14 I had the option on same videos for having 2160p but now I have the final version it has disappeared on the same videos it was their before on my 2020 iPad Pro. Any ideas please?

Can't give you any ideas? but you are now able to install the iOS 14 version and see how it works with the latest iOS version? Have you noticed this on other devices?

Correct, not on iPad OS 14 at the moment.

Is 4K SDR content working for people on iOS or is there a blanket outage of it right now? I'm still getting limited to 1080 for SDR but 4K HDR still works.

Same, I finally went premium this summer and feel bloody annoyed about it now.

Even using the older YouTube app and the latest 1 day old Youtube 15.38.2, the 4k playback of VP9 or AV1 is broken on my 2019 iPad Mini using iPadOS 14.2 b1 PB now. Was working with VP9 with released iPadOS 14 previously. What fun!

The Youtube AppleTV app just got its first update since April aaaand no 4K for me there either.
