For the person above who asked about widgets, here is how I use them on my GS4. My homescreen has two widgets. On my main widget, I get a glanceable, scrollable view of my calendar, texts, email, news feed, Twitter and Facebook. I need not go into any app to see what's new. And I can launch all these apps straight from the widget if I need to.

So you as a CUSTOMER are willing to pay whatever Apple asks you for? Even if it is a bit stretched too high? You really love Apple that much?

So you as a CUSTOMER like to torture kittens? Even if they haven't done anything to you? You really hate kittens that much?

Isn't putting words in other people's mouths fun? :)

So yeah selling product astronomically high margin is ALWAYS great for shareholder and Apple business

Nope. Again, I said nothing of the kind.

I am not asking it to be free. Merely suggesting what could be the right price for it. I don't care about business strategy and shareholder here as long as I get a good phone at a good PRICE.

Which gets back to my point. Why not just ask for free if you don't care about Apple's side of the equation?

It's not my job to understand.

Absolutely. But if you are going to defend your opinion of what the price should be, then understanding is helpful.

And you know what?
Good balance between margin and pricing = everybody happy.

Sure, but it's not balance when you only look at one side of the equation.

Okay. I don't think I could have an insightful discussion with someone who loves putting words on other people's mouth and spinning things out.

Looks like Apple is the center of equation to you. So why not let Apple asks $2000 for each iPhone if you don't care about customer's side of equation? Hey I could spin words too. It's EASY. Yay!

In the end market will decide the right price for mid tier iPhone and so far it's not doing too well compared to 5S. It won't be free as in a beer like your silly idea because people pay to play.

Oh yep I need to understand business and pricing formula to state an opinion. Sorry didn't get the memo. Mouth zipped.

That looks like utter crap.

Not to mention that you also don't need to go into apps and go into notifications to see what's going on.

That is the point. I don't need to go into an app or into notifications to know what's going on.

Looks fine to me.

And it's always great and more efficient to be able to reply messages right away from it. iOS could not do that.
You know what looks utter crap for me?

Siri interface on iPad with iOS 7
iPad-mini-iOS-7-Siri.png

So much empty spaces doing nothing. Such a HUGE waste of screen estate. Why Siri needs to be fullscreen on iPad. Yawn..

Newsstand

Yuck .. obviously streched out off iPhone version. I thought iPad is all about native and optimized app for bigger screen? Apparently not

Facetime Audio

Facetime Audio interface on iPad. Yet another fail. Shamelessly stretched out directly from iPhone. Lots and lots of spaces left empty, doing nothing.

That's iPad iOS for you. Optimized to the maximum, yeaahh :D

Okay. I don't think I could have an insightful discussion with someone who loves putting words on other people's mouth and spinning things out.

And yet that's exactly what you did.

Looks like Apple is the center of equation to you.

Not at all. They are on one side. I'm on the other. Personally, I got a iPhone 5C for $50. Apple got what they decided to sell it for. Seems like a balanced equation for me.

So why not let Apple asks $2000 for each iPhone if you don't care about customer's side of equation? Hey I could spin words too. It's EASY. Yay!

Just because you are ignoring half the equation doesn't mean that I am.

In the end market will decide the right price for mid tier iPhone and so far it's not doing too well compared to 5S.

And yet it's probably the second best selling smartphone in the world since its release.

It won't be free as in a beer like your silly idea because people pay to play.
