Didn't you increase the brightness?

The warmer colour temperature is closer to D65 which is the standard that all displays should be running at so I'm happy.

colour temp aside - whites should be white though ?

my TV is calibrated - but whites look white

The 5 is definitely warmer than my iPad 3 and iPhone 4. I prefer cool to neutral temps, but I'd be happy if they stuck with one temp across all devices.

Just came across this. Can anyone vouch for it?

*Facepalm*

I'm spending too much time on these forums :(

Coming here is a guarantee to see multiple blogs about every possible thing that someone will not like about a new device. I refuse to go looking for any problems with mine. I didn't see any scratches, dings, dents, and the screen looks fine so I am a happy camper.

Left one about 8200K or so, right one likely around 7000k. Still not perfect, but the right one is much better calibrated for graphics, movies, etc.

Ah, someone who speaks English! The problem all you crybabies are having with a "yellow" screen is that it's "warmer" (or cooler if you understand lighting). Apple's displays have been blue-heavy or "hot" for the past few years, and now that they are PROPERLY lit and colored, you all are whining that it's "Yellow". That's what happens when you take a color temp that's too hot, use it for 5 years, then switch to a more accurate display. Same thing happened with the iPad 3.

so its nothing to worry about?

howcome some are more bluer than others?

my 32GB has a yellow tint and it looks like wee lol

wonder if its just the 32GB as the in store demos and a friends 16GB is fine

A cooler colors temp should NEVER be "prefered". It stinks cause (and this is not apples fault really), is that the vast majority of the population think "brighter/whiter/etc..." is better. But all it is, is wrong.

I will assume most here have their TV's set to the wrong color temp. Find the movie/cinema/theater mode, make sure warm (or warm 2 if you have that option) is selected, and try watching it like that for awhile. Will the TV be perfect at those settings? No. But a large majority of TV's are at least some what closer, and better than "dynamic" mode.

People can prefer what they want, and there is nothing wrong with that. But what irks me, is when people start saying there is something wrong. And blaming apple, asking for exchanges. I fully believe Apple is trying to correct the masses. So either stick with it, or go get a S3 or something.

I have been calibrating displays for about 10 years (not professionally, but serious and expensive hobby). So I am very very used to 6500k (there is no such think as D65, but I am just not-picking lol). Looking at golfs pic, the one on the left just looks blue to me. It doesn't look more white, is just looks blue.

faulty antenna = you're holding it wrong
yellowish display = warm
blueish display - cool
awful maps = work in progress
scuffing = China's fault
SJ passing away - act of God
50% drop in AAPL = inevitable

LoL you're funny.

My i5 screen is a bit warmer than I typically like but it does look nice. I keep my brightness at about 55%.

If a background is suppose to be white but looks yellow, I'd be annoyed, who wouldn't. Most people are used to seeing the color white on a white background, it just feels normal. I myself being one, and could care less about color calibration, as long as the colors look natural.

There a lot of reasons for yellowish screens, these could include changes in technology, QC changes, changes in the way its calibrated or perhaps its just faulty. Most likely, its a mixture of what i just mention.

If your not happy with your product, even in the slightest, return it, don't let other people tell you its okay just because they say it is.

The iPhone 5 is probably calibrated like the new iPad, which is a good thing. At least to all people who want accurate colors. The calibration is now warmer, coming close to the 6500K standard.

Ip5 display is warmer than ip4 but gives you vivid colors. The contrast is way better than on ip4s that had yellowish tint

I'm not seeing that with mine. I also had a slight hiccup with my screen though. When I was in the AppStore I saw distorted purple and black pixels go crazy for a few seconds; like what you see on TV shows when someone puts a magnet to a computer screen.

Pic very related.

This has happened to me a couple of times, both times in the App Store.

Just happened 2 mins after I posted this while trying to download Battle Nations, it started flickering when it asked for my password. Btw I don't understand why sometimes I get asked for a password and other times I don't, I need to research this I guess.

My screen leans towards magenta, most noticeably in blacks and neutrals.
