I'm not seeing that with mine. I also had a slight hiccup with my screen though. When I was in the AppStore I saw distorted purple and black pixels go crazy for a few seconds; like what you see on TV shows when someone puts a magnet to a computer screen.

Pic very related.

You may know this, but that is in no way realistic. LCDs aren't affected by magnets and CRTs made rainbow patterns because you're pulling the shadow mask or aperture grille out of alignment from where the electrons are aiming and they light up the wrong phosphor. :)
I had exactly the same issue with mine, and strangely enough I was in the app store too. As soon as I came out of the app store it stopped and I haven't had it since. Was very odd

Didn't you increase the brightness?

What device was this taken from? My iphone 5 is yellower than this, you picture looks way more natural and better to my eyes.

When I bought my iPad 3 I I found the screen much warmer than my iphone 4 and didn't like it, I preferred the coolness of the iphone 4 screen. Now my iphone 5 is warmer and yellower than my iPad, and since I've been using my iphone 5 for a while the iPad now looks epic so not all bad. I appreciate that certain photos look better on the iphone 5, but I do find the menu screens a little 'annoying' in that they're a milky white rather than bright white.

Waiting for my wife's iphone 5 to arrive and if that's the same as mine I'll just put up with it. If her's is cooler I might take mine back and chance getting a slightly cooler one.

The 5 is definitely warmer than my iPad 3 and iPhone 4. I prefer cool to neutral temps, but I'd be happy if they stuck with one temp across all devices.

Totally agree with this. If I just use my iphone 5 for a while I get used to it and don't notice the yellow hue, but if I use my iphone shortly after using my mac or ipad the yellow tinge is much more noticeable. It would be nice if they made all screen colours the same.

This has been discussed in multiple threads and has so far been determined to be a software issue as even non iPhone 5 devices were experiencing it in the same situations. Mine did it too, and only once like you.

I'm pretty sure you won't see LCD discoloration in a screen shot. It will merely show up according to what screen you are viewing it on. So this question is irrelevant I think. Someone may be able to correct me if I'm wrong.

As others have said, apple appears to be merely going more for a correct color temperature. You may get lucky and find a few devices that have more blue/white tones than your current one but I doubt you'll ever be able to match the hue of the iPhone 4 again.

1) I've read 2 reviews of the iP5 from the computing press and they have also mentioned experiencing this "line of pixels" issue. I've seen it on the keyboard on mine and also a line of rainbow pixels twice when expanding a large folder.

2) Agree ... the screenshot will dump the video memory to a picture. What it looks like will depend on the screen you are viewing the picture from.

3) Someone posted an Anandtech review of the iP5 screen where they tested its colour saturation, sRGB etc, and stated it is the most accurate display they have ever tested.
