iPad 2 32gb AT&T model shipping thread

I really thought I would see movement today (being a non-weekend day). FedEx status updated for Mar 21, 2011 11:52 PM
At local FedEx facility
LANTAU ISLAND HK

This is the 4th straight day on that darn island. My package has spent more time on that island than a lot of people's packages spent on their entire journey to the US!

FedEx still says it will be here by the 24th. We'll see.

Same here. Been there for multiple days. Scanned again there today. Seems to be a black hole there. Maybe Fedex needs some logistical help...or maybe they sent their logistics people to Japan to help out...because if it continued to travel the day after it arrived in HK, it would be here today or tomorrow not Thursday....

Oh well....

If I get one with bleed I think I'll take it back once the high rush is done (or if they have replacements). I always buy apple care so it shouldn't be much trouble to get a replacement.

per my chat with the "genius" bar, you won't need Apple Care as this will be covered as a part of the standard 1 year warranty since it's a manufacturing defect.

According to Yahoo, my iPad left the island at last and it's now in Taiwan! It looks like it's taking the Taipei->Osaka->Oakland route to get to me. Maybe it'll get here tomorrow? :D

Hey just out of curiosity can you post your scans from the yahoo small business fedex tracker? I am just curious if you have some extra scans between Hong Kong and Memphis.

Mine left Hong Kong a few hours ago and it shows a scan in Taiwan through the yahoo tracking but not through the Fedex tracking so I am just wondering.

Here is my path so far. It sat on Lantau for what seemed like forever but it is showing some movement now.... FYI its destination is Northern Virginia and FedEx.com tracking is saying that it will be here on the 23rd.

This is exactly what mine says too. I am hoping that the scan in Taiwan is bogus. It still says on FedEx that it is in transit so hopefully it is. Hopefully I can wake up in the morning and it will be in Memphis. It looks like other people have extra scans between hong kong and USA that show up on yahoo and not FedEx but are still making it in the scheduled time. Please let this be the case!

Finally!!!!

I finally got some movement. My iPad finally left "The Island" and has moved on to Anchorage. Now to see if they can still make the 24th! :) This is a good day.

My cover is also now in Alaska. Interesting thing is that my cover has a delivery date of tomorrow still, while my iPad has a delivery date of the 24th (originally the 23rd though).

I'm guessing that everyone else in this thread that was chilling with my iPad in HK has seen their loved ones move on to Alaska as well...

Smart Cover's in my location now, but hasn't been delivered yet. iPad's left Taiwan, and it looks like it's taking the Taipei->Anchorage route. :) ETA for both is still the 23rd, though.

ATT models were at apple store today, had enough for me to wait in line twice, only picked up 3 today!
 
Finally?

72 hours in HK and now my 32G AT&T white is in Anchorage as of 6 AM local. Scheduled for tomorrow, hope it makes it.
 
Man, I'm the one who started the thread, but I got so caught up playing with my new iPad last night that I never jumped in here and updated. Mine arrived yesterday at 12:30 pm. Pretty thrilled with it, I must say.

For those of you waiting still, keep tracking and make sure you let Apple know what you think of this launch experience.
 
Ordered mine on launch -- 32 gb white at&t. Was told it would ship in 5-7 days. Received notification that it shipped on the 20th with an arrival date of 23rd. But that just slipped to the 24th. Looks like it's been on Lantau island for 3 days now.

All the same details for me (ordered at 7AM EST on launch) except it is a black model.
 
I ordered mine on 3/11 and it arrived on 3/15. I waited till 7 am on the eleventh too.

Mine hit Anchorage, AK at 12:22:00..... Maybe there's still hope that I'll get it tomorrow! :eek::rolleyes:;). :p:p
