iPad 2 32gb AT&T model shipping thread

64 GB AT&T 3G Finally Ships!

It has shipped. Ordered at 2:52 PDT on the 11th. Had been in Prepared to Ship mode all day. FedEx only knows about a tracking number being generated. I guess I'll wake up to it having done something while I sleep.

Next time I buy an iPad in the store on release day, I'm gonna buy 2. Just to make sure one of them actually works! :)

Now I get to play the tracking game. So for the next 3-5 days, I get to watch along with the rest of you and track my iPad like a kid watching NORAD track Santa.

I am part of the 5-7 day crew (ordered at 5:02 pt) and there has been no movement on mine. I did get my SmartCover today, though.

Hope you all get yours going soon, so we can get to mine.
 
Still not shipped for me. Well over 24 hours since moving to prepared for shipping... Guess my luck sucks!

My shipping notification showed up yesterday at 11:36 AM ET for my order placed on March 11 at 12:49 AM PT.

Right now FedEx says it's at Lantau Island, HK, with a deliver by of March 23 4:30 PM.

It's taking longer than I initially expected, and the blue smart cover that I ordered along with the iPad has been sitting lonely in its box since Saturday :)

But I'm glad I didn't stand in line this time.

Finally in transit! I really thought I would wake up to it long on it's way, but it appears to have just gone into in transit mode on Lantau Island. I can't help but think of Shutter Island when I see that name. An island where all you do is make iPads all day long. Nobody gets off the island...

My status still says the estimated delivery is the 22nd, but I'm thinking that I'm either looking at Saturday (If they do Saturday delivery)or Monday.

So why do some go through Alaska while others go straight to Memphis? This sort of timing makes me think that I will actually get mine before the 24th, but it is amazing at how packages can get hung up at a location for more than a day.

It's probably just heading to FedEx's facility at Hong Kong's airport. Not too long after it said that for me, I got this:

Also, the next flight to Memphis (via Japan) isn't until 3pm local time (currently 2am there). There's also a flight to Memphis via Paris that's earlier, but it's unlikely our iPads will be on that one.

Since Japan is a 14 hour flight I'm guessing I will have to wait until I return from a business trip late Wednesday night to open it! This means I have to wait until 11pm Wednesay night.

There's an iOS app called "Delivery Status touch" that does basically that. Works on iPad and iPhone. That's what I use to track new toys. :D

Looks liek mine is with yours. Also looks like its taking some time for the scans to update (mine is 12am transit to Lantau).
