false. the invite, if you pay attention to its clues, gave it away already, there will be a display increase that we'll see at the march 2 event. mark my words.
the 2 clues we've gotten from apple since yesterday point to the display increase. the only thing pointing to it not being a display increase are crappy rumors that ANYONE could have started, including "analysts" who are from rival companies to try and kill some of the ipad 2's hype. business is business.
think about it, the official things we've seen from apple about the event for the ipad 2:
1st: the invite. it has to do with the gray shading/coating over the corner of the ipad. this is found on the ipod touch and the iphone 4g on apple's website under those respective devices' galleries. it's not found on the current ipad or iphone 3gs. this is a conscious decision apple made when designing the invite for the event. they wouldn't tease us like that, there's no point in pissing your customers off like that, those who look that deeply into stuff like that anyway, haha.
2nd: the yerba buena display outside. on the left side, symbolizing the past, is a bunch of random dots (pixels) farther from one another, but on the right side of the apple logo, (symbolizing the future) is a bunch of dots (pixels) much closer together, which i think shows pretty clearly a retina or display increase for the ipad 2.
now why would apple choose to go with these two seemingly blatant context clues with the only 2 pieces of official apple information we have leading up to the event? because they know apple fans are pretty hardcore and the serious ones will find this a sort of fun "scavenger hunt" if you will. it's fun to find some clues like this and predict what will happen. after the event, we may look back on this and think how the clues were right in front of us all along, unless we get past the corny idea of it and realize, "hey this might actually be telling me something"
don't be stubborn. think about it.
