From what I understand they received 400pcs of either 16gb ipad2 black or 400pcs total. Either way it's a nice quantity. They have a strong relationship with Apple and carry the whole line and move large amounts. Unlike the smaller third party Apple resellers.

Just got mine this morning and yes, it is an iPad 2

Thanks OP. Just ordered a 32GB Wifi Black from B&H! First time ordering from them although I have heard good things about them previously, mostly from people (internet and IRL) who purchased photo/video items.
I was out of town this past weekend and even went to several Targets (called 10 of them) and a Walmart but they were all sold out or didn't have the model I wanted.
The guy who took my order was extremely nice and not only could I understand him, but he understood me and even threw out a Ghostbusters reference to my email (which is part my username.) I asked him when do they expect shipments, but he said they weren't sure. He also stated that they are getting some everyday so far but don't know which models they receive.
I'm not in a rush at all to receive the iPad but hope to get one at least in the time frame equivalent to ordering from Apple (now 4-5 weeks) all while saving on tax (~$50).

I've never had a bad experience with B&H. They say up front what they're going to do, they say which of their products are "grey market" and which are authorized, and they're always ethical. More companies should follow their lead.
If anyone is interested, I just called the B&H Superstore and they have a 16GB black wi-fi only in stock and for sale at the store at the moment....
I am waiting for the 64 black ATT though, which may be a long wait until the "China orders" fade....

WTH? I just called and the guy said it would be up to 30 days and he had no way of telling me if I'd even get one. What exactly am I doing wrong. I ordered from minute 15 after going on sale at Frys. Was told 2 weeks which worked perfect for me. Now I get an email saying I can cancel my order because they have no ETA and no further info and blah blah blah (basically telling me to take my business elsewhere).
So I just called B&H and tried to take and order and the guy wouldn't take it as he said he had no idea if they'd even get any more stock in anytime in the future so he didn't know what to tell me but to probably just keep my order at Frys. Seriously. I'm totally confused.

That's what I just tried to order exactly and was basically told to go pound sand. I don't know if I have a weird Kermit the Frog voice that bothers people and they refuse to sell to me or what. It was all very surreal. All I was trying to do was exchange money for goods and/or services. It's the American Way!

Now I'm just starting to think Frys sucks. I was their biggest fan until today. Sure it's just a "thing", but come on people. For as much merchandise as those jokers move they should be able to get stuff quickly and get it to me in the timeframe promised. Seems like a lot of retailers are saying what they think people want to hear to get the sale locked in (is that why they are only doing phone orders???) and then not being able to get you any information after that except for, "It's all dependent upon Apple." Funny how it was a GUARANTEED 2 week delivery 5 days ago. Now it is "Hopefully in 30 days you'll have it sir." BOOOOOO.

I just ordered. He told me they expect more units to arrive in the next couple of days. What they don't know is how many they are getting versus how many are already pre-ordered (and, obviously which types they will get). So when mine will actually ship is completely up in the air, but the feeling I got is that my odds are pretty good. I also have an order in with Apple which ships in 3-4 weeks. I'll cancel whichever ships last.
This will save me from scouring stores and scouring this forum every 5 minutes. It will also save me TAX if B&H works out (over $70 for me, in California).

Which model did you order? Seems like you've got the best shot if you order a 16GB. 64GB seem to be up in limbo. Poor me lol.

He said that they are going to have iPad 3G tomorrow from China and maybe i receive the iPad the next week.
If i don't receive the iPad the next week i can cancel my order. but i'm going to wait.
Is a good deal i just save 51.81in taxes.
And I'm going to buy the red smart cover with that
