Does any one know if I should return my iPad to b&h for the backlight bleed, or can I take it to an apple store.

You can do either. I think it will be much easier getting a replacement at apple since they usually have stock available for replacements.

But does it make sense to do it now? I think pretty much all of them have some level of bleed. I plan on waiting a few months and then swap it out if the newer ones seem to not have the issue.

Right now your chances are much higher of getting one with light bleed. Unless it's really bad, I would wait. But that's just me.

So if i had to go to an apple store do i need my b&h reciept or anything?...You know I dont think I would have noticed the black light issue if I wouldnt have came on here and saw everyone talking about it..Its only an issue when I turn the ipad on and i can see it really good, I havent watched a movie on it yet so we will see, As of right now im just going to ignore it.

It's a two-stage process. We generate and affix the UPS package number when we generate the package label at the end of the packing process. You get an email with that number while the package is still physically on our loading dock but has been moved to a UPS package holding pen from which we may not legally touch or retrieve it. Then minutes or hours later, (stage two) the UPS folks pull up and scan the package's bar code as it moves from the holding pen to the truck. If you get an email from us with a UPS package number, your goodies are coming.

Thanks for the info henryp!

I got the free shipping and while it was originally going to come in tomorrow (7 days) it's coming in today! (6 days)

Now my wife and I don't have to fight over the ipad we have now!

Yea i have some light bleed issues but it isn't too severe i figure i will wait until ipads are actually stocked on shelves before i take mine in. Theres no worry about waiting since because its a defect you have 1 year to take it in to the genius bar.

FYI, my B&H order shipped today (16GB/Black/Wifi). Order was placed yesterday (just before they showed "In Stock") - 4/4/11. I upgraded to 2-Day shipping since I'm traveling later this week. Cost was only $12 to upgrade.

Happened to catch Best Buy right after a restock so I cancelled my order for a 32 GB black wifi, I was about #20 in line and ordered March 23rd.

How did you find your place in line? The rep I spoke with said that procurement doesn't give them access to that information.

I think them telling us our place in line is probably BS. I talked to 3 different reps through the live chat this week, two gave me different answers while there third said there was no way to look up such info. Last week i asked a rep online and he said he has no way to look it up as well. Hopefully the get stock for 32GB Black Wifis so I can get mine this week.

64gb white wifi and 64gb white Verizon are both in stock!

Enjoy.

UPDATE: Only "64GB iPad 2 with Wi-Fi + 3G (Verizon, White)" in stock now.

Got my 16GB white Verizon model from B&H on Tuesday! So far, I am loving it.

They were a great company to deal with and I am sure I'll use them in the future.

Could be but I asked on Thursday and got an answer of 40, and asked on Tuesday and got an answer of 20, which seems like a reasonable difference given 6 days. At least they were consistent!

So i called Macconnections to place a backup order just in case, even though I do think that B&H will fulfill my order within the next week or so, and they told me that they will receive a shipment on the 15th of this month. They also said that based on their preorder list, they will have enough in stock to fulfill all preorders for the 32GB Black Wifi model, plus some left over to sell to those who call in and order around that time. I am still sticking with my B&H order and will see what happens within the next week.

I just received both of my ipad 2!
I am impress with BH's packaging, I can tell someone actually wrap it completely with air bags.

Didn't you just order on 4/1 and is one of those a 32GB Black Wifi like you said in a previous post? If so, I am about to be super pissed!

B&H EPIC FAIL.

I've ordered on March 15, before they enacted 1 per person limit.

They even charged my card, and earned interest on it since then,
but today they called to say it's only one per person. The only one (not the size I really want) will arrive next week.

I don't want to jump the gun, but I'll be right behind you on that, if true. Especially after being told I was number 4 in line on Monday. But until I hear word, I'm still neutral.

someone just posted that macconn has the 32g ATT in stock as of 10pm est.

in case anyone wants to try

Are you saying that they are canceling people's 2nd iPad?

For giggles (!) I ordered a black 64 ATT yesterday from MacConnection and it shipped today (!!!) Frustrated souls may want to call them...

First, we regret your dissatisfaction. Second, we DO NOT earn interest on your money between the time your order is placed and the merchandise is shipped. Warren Buffett and Gordon Gekko together aren't canny or savvy enough to be able to do that.

We do now have a one iPad 2 per person limit because we found people were ordering multiple units, keeping one and selling the others on the secondary market or posting them on eBay. We want to give every customer who wants to buy an iPad the opportunity to do so without having to stand on line behind the chap who wants to walk out the door with an armload.

Consultant, your post implies you'd ordered more than one and we canceled one or more. I cannot confirm this from the information posted here. Please email your B&H order number(s) to me so I can look into your situation.
