I've heard a few reports of the iPad 2 handling iOS 8 quite well- is anyone else running iOS 8 on their iPad 2 ?? How does it run??

Also wondering this - specifically in comparison to 7.1.1.

Not trying to take over the thread, but how is it on the iPad mini 1st gen? It's a similar device to the mini so I thought I'd ask.

I know the chances are slim, but does the iPad 2 get the proper blur effects in notification centre and control centre in iOS 8? I never quite understood why it didn't get them in iOS 7 :/

I don't think the GPU is powerful enough for real time blur effects.

No, the GPU is very much powerful enough for real time blur effects, just look at iOS 7 betas 1-3 and there is a jailbreak tweak to allow blur too. It is barely even laggy.

Sorry to just barge in like this in your thread but, has anyone used Continuity between iPad 2 and iPhone 5, how does it work?

Thanks

It runs almost as well as 7.1.1, I restored due to some apps freezing up (beta glitches) but besides that its very good, amazing for a beta

Because 3rd gen iPad can't handle blur effects nicely due to 4x pixel and only 2x graphics power compared to iPad 2. While iPad 2's non-retina display and A5 chip can support blur effects just fine like the original iPad mini, it is a generation behind 3rd gen iPad so disabling it makes sense for users.

What would you like to see mate, can do one just now if you wish

D

That would be great! Just general speeds for Safari and other built in apps, multitasking, control centre, notifications and maybe a few of the new features?
I'd really appreciate it :)

Wow are you sure?

They didn't add any crazy new features, I'm sure there a 're a couple hidden things but there shouldn't be anything new that this iPad can't do, if it couldn't do it in iOS 7, it won't do it in iOS 8, but evrryhting else should be there
