iPad 2 - Orange County, CA

I'll be heading to Spectrum myself. I've got to pick one up for my wife. She thought she'd be happy with my first gen iPad until she started playing around with my white Verizon 32GB.

Fortunately, for some reason, Spectrum sounds like was much less of a mess than Brea. 2/3 of the people in line on launch day were disappointed.

Find out what time the Brea mall opens, and be there when they unlock the doors. I was there at 10am Monday to pick up a smart cover for my iPad 2, and the line of hopefuls was about 250 people long.
 
I am going to head out to mine at around 8 AM when the mall opens and the apple store is opening 1 hour early so at 9 AM hopefully I can grab my 16GB 3G ATT.

Even though ATT reception sucks in some places around OC, I don't use the 3G too much so it's better for the money and the free month.
 
I gotta be up early anyways, so....

....gonna head over to Fashion Island at around 8 AM and survey things - if the line is not too bad, I'm gonna commit

I've met some really cool people in the Apple 'lines' - honestly, waiting a few hours for an Apple product is always an experience

Mystikal - if you're around, I'm the dark-complexioned guy wearing a maroon Ed Hardy sweatshirt and tan cowboy boots - holla at ya boy!

I'm here now (it's 6 AM lol). I expected people. Or a line...its a ghost town. Good news is if they really have iPads, I am definitely getting one. :D

We've seen 3 employees. No news. I'm assuming no news is good news.

Edit: One employee is in line. He can't say anything about iPads or shipments.

And Mystikal is correct - I would say actually that around 5 or 6 employees have walked by saying "hello" - I would think they'd put us out of our misery by now if news was bad

Spectrum does not have anything. Just broke the bad news to everyone in line.
 
Just got here to Brea an there's about 20 or so in line. Hopefully we can get some update on inventory levels. They didn't sell any yesterday but I don't know if that's because they didn't get any or chose to hold them for today.

Be sure to let us know if any of those stores have product. Out of all the stores I've seen that have opened early today, none have had product. Which, of course, begs the question 'why in the hell are you opening early then?'
