Looks fine to me. But who cares? It's all about the specs that matters. That's what makes a product useful. And the iPad 2 must have a dual core A9 chip + 2x the resolution screen for it to be worth an upgrade. Or it's just a failure.

The problem with the current iPad is that it's too slow. Not the UI itself, but things like the web browser/internet surfing. That's what I'm looking forward to being improved.

I concur, it's far too sluggish.

I'm betting it will have neither and still won't be a failure. You guys are nuts if you are expecting such a huge upgrade on revision #1.

I hope it's not as ugly as those mockups. The first generation iPad looks much nicer compared to the newer one. Depending on the new features added, I might just get the first iPad.

It's only my opinion, I wasn't generally speaking of course, since they will still shift many due to brand loyalty.

get better WiFi. Problem solved.

I get 15 MB down...how much better should it be? The iPad simply cannot process the info fast enough, especially loading something like Engadget where its a long long list of information.

I never saw much difference from my laptop. granted it was a mid grade HP. On a different note I wish I got 15mb down.

What internet do you have? I just ran a test on my iMac using Speedtest.net and got 23.17 Mb/s down.

You guys are all so busy talking about the speaker that you missed the big news.

They are having to revise the production targets down, at least in part, due to yield issues with the touchscreens.

So while we don't know if it is "Retina" or not, ASSuming there is any validity to this comment, we CAN assume they are doing something new/improved with the screens, as evidenced by some early teething problems

That's just the screen for a Macbook Pro! Who do they think they're fooling?

One thing I question is the whole "iPad 2" thing written on the back. Since when has Apple ever done this? All the iPhones have just been labeled "iPhone".

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)

That grill is ugly.

I am willing to bet it has a grille but surely it is not as course as that mockup. Finer holes filled with that very fine mesh Apple uses.

Lame AT&T DSL 3mbps. In Chicago Suburbs, only choices are AT&T or Comcast, "powerboost"ed 12mbps, or insanely more expensive packages. No Fiber in the Chi because AT&T and Comcast own the tunnel rights and won't let anyone run it down there.

It's just a mockup so whoever's doing that is doing it for the simple fact of denoting that it is the 2nd gen.

From what I've read they are Replacing IPS with LPS which is 10% brighter and gives better viewing angles. Its new from samsung so they are prolly implementing that instead of a higher reso screen.

well there's your problem right there. DSL blows. All I have is broadband through charter. Comcast is basically the same thing. I would switch to the comcast for 12mbps and bundle with cable to get a decent deal. I can't believe that 12mbps is all the offer in Chicago. I can get 60mbps in my tiny town. I only pay for 25 though since I don't even need that much.

I can get 50 but it's $100 a month! Netflix works in HD over my little pissy 3mbps. when my AT&T contract is up I'll go to 20mbps with Comcast for like $55

One thing I always found cheap about the iPad are the plastic volume and power buttons. Those need to go.
