A faster CPU would definitely be beneficial. The current CPU is pretty good for pages that are mostly reading, but navigation with frequent reloads can be tiresome.

I still call BS on Apple putting crap cameras in this device.

Given Apple trying to make FaceTime ubiquitous, I can't see them NOT putting cameras into this iteration, and if its end intent is to make a thinner iPad, I can see them putting the same iPod touch cameras in it, though I would prefer the iPhone's (who wouldn't?)

As far as I'm concerned, Apple can keep all their cameras and anti-reflective screen tech. Weight and screen resolution are the only things I really care about for the iPad 2.

I wasn't planning on upgrading to the iPad 2, but a bigger processor means bigger and better apps, right? Like an app with better graphics or something like that?

Then would the original iPad not be able to run those kind of apps?

A better processor is part of it, but it also needs more RAM in order to work with more data at once. To use games as an example, more RAM could accomodate bigger levels, or higher-resolution textures. I'm actually sort of disappointed if they're only going to give the iPad 2 a perfunctory bump to 512 MB. I would say that's hardly forward-thinking, but of course "forward-thinking" to them means giving us a reason to buy an iPad 3.

As nice as it would be, I'm not expecting to see a higher res screen. Not without a price raise probably, and that wouldn't go down well now would it.

I wish that Apple would start making computers again. Real computers.

My Mac Pro isn't a real computer? Interesting. Does this mean I was paid fake money for all the fake work I've used it for?

Your response...awesomeness.

+1

Apple almost is wanting Android tablets to rule in 2011. I expected more from Apple.

It's not the hardware that always sells apple products. It's the software.

Go buy yourself an android then. Xoom is expected to cost 700-800 dollars.

Android tablets will be priced higher than iPads and people will compare them.

Now if only they do the antiglare coating on EVERYTHING they have, that would be nice.

I don't think you really said anything at all there,...Maybe a price quote???

What are you saying?

****EDIT*** Oh , and if you think that the main reason people look at Mac is Software and not Mac Hardware like the Uni-body and so forth....Well,...you are giving Apple buyers too much credit. Most people get Mac's because Mac's are pretty and shiny and they are too dumb to figure out how to use a real Computer....that's why Ubuntu isn't the one on top...

That people will compare?

You bet your ass they will.

And thats the original point.

I fail to see yours

i don't understand why people have a problem with the ipads current resolution.
have you tried watching HD video on it?
or playing HD games on it?
The current resolution is great! a doubled resolution would be unbelievable...... or magical

I've got a Mac Pro too - the dual 6c 2.93 GHz one and I think they could have done much better. It was disappointing. With as much money as they're making, why can't they excel in all their products?
