So... I posted earlier (ordered- 3/11 7:30pm and got a shipment date of 4/1, arriving 4/6) and decided to check my order status with Apple. As I mentioned it hadn't changed (before lunch). Came back after lunch and noticed people saying their order status HAD changed. So I looked again, 3 hours later... STILL NO CHANGE.

Are people really seeing their shipment dates change? Starting to lean toward a lil' BS... but don't want to cast judgment :(

I can assure you 100% my shipment date was Apr. 26 and is now Apr. 21, changed between 1-3pm

I love it when Google/Samsung/Sony/Motorola employees create new MacRumors accounts (join date Mar 2011) just to try to propagate garbage like this. Obviously trying to start a new antennagate. If you can't beat them in sales, try to start some bogus stories in the blogs and hope the media picks up on it.

THIS JUST IN: My iPad 2 is absolutely fine and its in my hands right now. Anybody else who really has one complaining?

I am on my second iPad 2 and this one has far worse bleed then the first did which is just sad..

Cool... good for you! I was just hoping to see mine change. They do post that it takes up to 24 hours for shipment changes to processs... I check back tomorrow.

No insult intended on my post! One week closer for you... I am seriously happy for you. It must feel nice!

I just spoke with Apple Support because I was worried that an order place today (with the 3-4 week lead-time) would ship before my order which I placed last week when the lead-time was 4 - 5 weeks.

I was told that I shouldn't cancel my order placed last week because it will ship before orders placed after it.

Yay!! I look forward to getting my iPad sooner.:apple::D

I mean... who writes this stuff?

So ridiculous dude. Just embarassing. Do you really think anyone has the time or desire?

Sure. Lots of newbies do. A jobs a job. Beats having to say "[d]o you want fries with that?"

My ship date hasn't changed but the status has changed to prepared for shipment. As you can see I ordered it on the 11th and the whole time it has been listed with an April 1st ship date. So my best guess is that it is waiting for Mr Factory Guy to get in Friday morning and hand off the latest pallets of tablets to Mr Shipping Guy.

This just in: orders will ship in the order they were received despite the 4-5 vs. 3-4 week estimates. Meaning, if you ordered an iPad 2 yesterday & received a 4-5 week ship estimate, you will get yours before someone who just now ordered one and received a 3-4 week estimate.

This also just in: estimates are not exact.

Wait wait, but it says estimate, why wouldn't that be exact.

Why are people so stupid? Why would anyone think that an order placed today would ship before one placed 2 weeks ago. Really, soooo stupid!

My 64gb black wifi is still on track for 4/1 and 4/6.. ordered at 7pm on 3/11... strangely enough, i received my case today. so i have a case for no ipad.

Ship date on order has changed

I placed an order for a iPad 2 yesterday with the 4-5 week wait. The order specified a ship date of April 27. I just checked my order status and the ship date has now changed to April 21, so six days earlier anyway. We'll see if it changes from there.

Fyi

Ordered mine online on launch morning, est ship April 1.
Shipped TODAY.Nice.
(64GB 3G ATT Black)
Hope everyone's arrives early!

Yup, it's for real. Ship date bumped up four days Apr 25 to Apr 21 but delivery day bumped only two days, probably because of a weekend, from Apr 28 to Apr 26. I'll try to get one at a B&M store early next week and cancel my online order. The cover I ordered shipped right away - no shortage of those!!

Sorry but that's not the case, created an account just recently to provide my input on this issue on another thread. I am 3 iPads down with problems and still hoping the 4th will arrive with no leakage or dead pixels. I'm glad yours is "absolute fine" but if you do a search or just ask around you will find this is a widespread problem

Mine is fine. No bleed. I'm not sayin it does not exist, but mine is fine.

My bad if this is for real, it just sounds so much like the iPhone Antenna issues threads that started last year. I bought in to that whole garbage hook line and sinker at first and there were tons of newbies posting on the problem.

When I finally got to see a few actual iPhone 4's (never bought one since I am still under contract for 3GS) -- I could not replicate the problem. Over the past year I must have tried on about 20 iPhone 4's of friends, many times in areas of really bad coverage and compared it directly with my 3GS -- but no antenna issue could be discerned that was any worse than other smart phones and it consistently out-performed the antenna on my 3GS.

Clearly volume of posts (108,000) does not make the problem real since the iPhone 4 Antenna got more posts than I can count on more threads than I count. But it certainly lends some credence.

I also find it a bit hard to believe that Halebopp has managed to get 3 iPad 2's in the two weeks that they have been out and that he is waiting for the 4th given the production shortages. Unless Halebopp is going down to the Apple Store every morning at 7am and waiting in line for it to open so he can exchange the unit before the stock disappears. Maybe Apple Store is willing to hold one for you if you call the day before and tell them about the problem you are having and that you need an exchange. But I remember when folks where exchanging their 27-inch iMacs that had screen problems that it took quite a while to get replacement units.

So maybe it was/is a bit presumptuous of me to assume that since mine was fine that this was a repeat of that whole Antenna-gate thing. If so then I apologize, and I will reserve my judgement until there are enough iPad 2's out there in circulation for me to test with a dozen or so units of friends.

With regards to whether or not I think folks have the time or desire to post fake problems with regards to Apple products, I believe the answer is "yes" based on what I have seen. Does it mean that is always or usually the case, probably not.

I ordered my iPad2 on the evening of 3/11

I ordered my iPad 2 at 10:00 p.m. on 3/11 and was originally given a ship date of 4/1.

I just received notification (late last night) that it's shipped and will be arriving on 3/30.

Looks like Apple is getting caught up on orders to me...

Good to see; ordered mine at the same time - still waiting on the shipment notification.

Ditto. I ordered mine at 7:27AM PST on 3/11. Estimated 4/1. Notified this morning that it shipped today (3/25) for 3/30 delivery.
