iPad 2 State-by-State Stock Update

Not necessarily. I bought one at cost off Craigslist (after researching the seller on Google). She was a nice girl, selling it because her boyfriend didn't want it - he wanted a Xoom. Made for an awkward sale though, he came along and was putting down the iPad. I told him how we use it at work for showing product MOA videos and by the end I had him actually wishing he'd kept it. Pwned.

To the topic at hand, all stores in the Philly area are sold out. Best Buy in KoP added an automated "We do not know when we will be getting more iPad 2s in." to their answering message.

Hey All,

Roseville, MN says nothing until tomorrow. That they'll know between 9 and 11 and it'll be first come, first served. Don't know if that means they'll be opening at 9 or not. Couldn't get through to MOA -- just busy signals. Haven't inquired with Ridgedale, Uptown, Southdale -- figured it will just be more of the same.

Also, sounds like AT&T around here got nothing. They said that Apple isn't supplying them at all and they can only place online orders with a lag of 14-21 days.

At this point, I think the best option is to order online. Yeah, it is a 3-4 week wait, but many people are saying that their orders are shipping early. Not to mention, you will get exactly what you want. Too me, it sure beats wasting all this time calling and interrogating employees at Apple, Best Buy, etc.

Dude, that is crazy talk! Why be patient and get exactly what you want when you can waste your cell minutes calling stores every 10 mins, use up all your $4 gas driving around town, and get fired from your job for spending your days standing in lines? Besides, once you settle for the 16Gb Verizon model that you didn't want, you won't have anything to complain about.

I was up there earlier and they told me that their shippment wouldn't be in until 2pm. Guess it got there early. Did they give you any word as to when they'll get more in?

They opened early today and sold all of them to re-sellers (ie people who bought 2 each).

I've called or walked by the 5th Ave, UWS and 14th St stores today (UWS around 10.30am, and the other two around 12.30pm) - all were completely sold out at the time. Interestingly though, at the 5th Ave store the guy on the door said they hadn't had any shipments so far today.

Just checked the Apple Store inside Tysons Corner Mall, they said they got 10 in this morning's shipment and sold them all just after opening. As with everywhere else, I was told they are expecting shipments daily and to check back tomorrow.

Really hope Apple ramps up with more than 10 per store per day!

On Saturday, the Leawood store had some in stock at 10 when they opened. They had black 64 AT&T, white 32 Verizon, and black 16 and 32 WiFi. They ran out of the 64 AT&T before my turn in line.

I was talking to an employee from the same store on Sunday morning. He told me he thought all the iPad deliveries would come with the normal morning UPS or FedEx shipments. I asked if there was any rhyme or reason to when they make the stock available for sale or when the shipments come it. He said "no" to both.

I had called the Plaza store earlier this morning as was told they weren't getting any today. I dislike being lied to. I wish the stores would just add the correct information to their phone greeting.

What Apple employees will tell you...

We shouldn't be surprised that Apple employees will not say whether they expect more iPads in tomorrow or any other day.

Apple has an admirably consistent rule on this sort of thing -- store employees will *never* guarantee future events. So the trick is to parse what they *will* tell you, which isn't much.

I am not reading anything into the fact that they won't guarantee anything will be in stock tomorrow morning.

What time do they open the main doors to the mall? Just wondering what time someone could get there?

The folks are the Greenville store have been hard to interpret. On Saturday, they told me their shipment would be in around 4pm. It came in around 11ish (so I heard).

OK, so made a trip to the Plaza Apple Store minutes ago. I expected they wouldn't have any in stock and was right. The apple employee I spoke with said they get shippments in everday except Sunday between 10 and 2. They are not opening early. His "tip" for me was to order online.

Ok, I got to my Apple Store in Greenville, SC at 7:30 (they opened at 9) and there was one person there. An employee came out at about 8 and told us they had limited stock and gave us some water, which was nice. By 9, there were about 30-40 people in line...then they announced that they only had 5 VZW 3G 32G iPads, so most everyone left. Pretty disappointing, but no one really to blame. I can't try tomorrow, but if they open early on Thursday, I'll try again then.

Just got a 16wifi black at the leawood,ks store. I think they still have 16 and 32 verizon assorted colors in stock. They got quite a few verizon.
