That is awesome news! Maybe if I head now I can still grab one. I wish I would have seen this post earlier. Did you have to wait in line or just walk in and pick it up? Did they have any more 16gb wifi or just the Verizon ones?
The SXSW pop up store in Austin has a lot of them. It's a 20 ish min line but they have stock, it seems like they never ran out.
I went today at 730AM to the GSP Apple Store in NJ. Only to have the employee put up the "we know iPad is popular but we don't have any in stock." then a minion comes out and says they have no iPads and walks back in. Then another minion comes out and says the same thing and to call after 3 if they have stock.

All Houston area stores didn't get any shipments (supposedly). One did get 20, and sold them all (obviously).
Has anyone been given reason to believe that there is a stronger chance of stores having more inventory tomorrow, other than the fact that tomorrow will be the 5th day the product has been out with no major shipments to speak of since Friday/Saturday?
To me, it's like a game now. I'm looking partly just for the challenge of finding one; I could order online, but that would take the fun out of it at this point. I can't line up tomorrow morning, but I can Thursday, so I'll try again then.
I called the Apple store in Greenville, SC and they gave the same line about not having any in stock.
I called my Greenville, SC store tonight and they gave the usual line about not having any in stock. They're opening early again tomorrow morning, which sounds like what any Apple stores are doing to sell whatever they get in stock. I'll be there bright and early giving it another shot. Good times!
I got one! I was in line at about 7 this morning at the Greenville, SC Apple store. A salesperson came out at about 8:30 and handed out tickets; they had about 10 16 and 32 gig wifi, all black. I wanted a 32 gig wifi, and got one since I was 6th in line. I'm syncing it now, this is going to be a good day!

Have been trying to get one at the Apple store in Orland Park, IL - calling every day-no luck! Waited in the Friday line to no avail. Will try going in to the store in the early AM & see if that works.

I'm in Greenville too. They had 10 each? I'm debating whether or not to try again tomorrow (Friday) for the 32GB black wi-fi. I got there around 8:20 and was already about 40th in line.
Man, you were so close. If I were you and could wait in line, then I would. That's the exact model I got this morning and it hasn't left my hands all day. I got there at 7 this morning and was 6th in line if that helps.
Targets around Indianapolis have had sporadic stock. I got one on Wednesday afternoon from Eagle Creek. They had two 32GB black wifi and one 64GB white wifi. Use the stock checker from another thread. The same day, the Plainfield store showed limited availability of the 32GB black wifi. Right now Southport shows the same.
It's probably not a coincidence that those three stores are three of the furthest stores away from the Apple Store in town. The hard core hunters are probably hitting the Apple Store first and then every Best Buy/Target/Wal-Mart in shooting distance when they strike out at the fashion mall.

I've been checking the Target inventory tracker all week and they haven't had any re-stocks yet this week. Here's to hoping for a change come Friday morning...
Targets in southern California seem to have only Black, 32gb WiFi and White, 64gb AT&T. I was able to pick up 1 of 2 Black, 32gb WiFi models this morning from a southern CA Target after waiting 10 minutes before store-opening. A scalper claimed the other one and a fellow MacRumors poster got the White, 64gb AT&T. This particular Target must have received this shipment Wednesday night, as they did not show any inventory mid-day on Wednesday.
