I am planning to go to the Trafford Centre, I was hoping it was a morning launch as there are videos online of the iPad launch at TC and the person filming near the front had been there since 5am. As for the late launch I have no idea, does anyone else, I'll prob go to the TC when it opens and start queuing when people start to gather. I live two hours away and have no choice but to travel as my pc world said they think only the flagship stores will get stock.

Good call. I'm about 45 minutes away so will do the same and be there when the store officially opens at 10am. Shame I've sold my iPad 1st gen as it would have provided a good distraction. iPhone 4 and book it is then !

Anyone want to pair up for the queue at Westfield? I'll be there for opening on Friday.

What time u gonna be there mate? I'm going by myself and pairing up would make toilet breaks easier ha!

I'm not sure if I'm gonna definitely queue there but will decide on Thursday once I know what kinda stock levels if any my local pcworld have.

Planning to start queueing around 11am-12pm

I've got to say the thought of a 5pm launch is not very appealing. Even though I've got the day off work ( coincidence, honest!), I don't fancy spending 5+ hours queing. Early morning would have been ideal.

That being said, I'll be at the Trafford Centre store at around 12pm for a 5pm launch. Anyone else planning on going to the TC and if so what time. Seeing as it'll be my first time queing for a product, I want to make sure I'm not too late!

I'm aiming for 12pm at the trafford centre as well. Going out the night before so could be fun. Appreciating the afternoon launch for this reason though ;)

I went for the iPhone 4 launch and got there at about 7am for 8am opening, didn't get into the apple store until 11am though. It's worth queueing for longer before the queue opens than having 100 people in front of you with an iPhone already.

Hopefully they will be alot faster since they expanded the store though.

Hey everyone.

Here are the stock numbers for the iPad's. Unfortunately the system doesn't have each number assigned to a size or colour so it's quite random until Friday. The numbers are useful though as it allows you to phone up and check stock to reserve one. Ask customer services if you can reserve one of these numbers, and then they can just advance further through the numbers to find the iPad you actually want.

The price is set at £9999.99 as Apple haven't told us what it is yet.

508-5288, 508-5295, 508-5305, 508-5329, 508-5336, 508-5343, 508-5350, 508-5367, 508-5374, 508-5398, 508-5408, 508-5415.

Here is the screenshot confirming that the launch is at 5pm on Friday, and not before :)

getting there at 10am I think!

we need someone to consolidate all the info into one post :)

oh yeah.. iawa has his webpage.. but thats for croydon...

TBH I have found that as Croydons Purley Way has most stores which people are talking about I have been including basically all info, I have also been including any info about HMV, KRCS, Voda, Three and general stock/times across the UK. The only thing I am not able to update anything on is Apple online sales (only speculation) and Apple Store stock etc. but seeing as they will have the most (easily 150,000 - 200,000 units across their 29 stores) it is more about finding what other stores might have.

If anyone would like to add info for their area's non Apple store feel free to contact me or add it to comments, I have added the news for today anyway.

Sorry, which store is this?

You thinks they'll have that many. I was thinking theyd get (on average) 1000-1500 each, with the small ones (like mine - Cardiff) getting more like 500. Thats not based on facts or anything though.

Can't remember my password for my account so had to sign up again oh well.

Not liking this 17:00 launch :(, even booked the whole day off.

Anyone from the Southampton area, what's your plans for Friday??

Posted from my iPad 1 ( waiting to go to my mum lol ) :D

Any one going to the trafford centre I have set up an iPad 2 Trafford centre thread, so that any TC related info can be put on there to make it easy to find

hmm that means each store will get around 3000+ units each which clearly isnt going to happen :p

I think 1000 per store or maybe less sounds about right.

The problem is that for the first time there are 12 SKUs - you might not get the EXACT model that you want!

Wifi Only, in the following order of preference.

32W,32B,16W,16B,64W,64B.

IE. As long as its a wifi only i'm easy. :D:p:D

Then of course theres the smart 'cover' (again in order of preference)

Bluw. Green. Pink :)eek:), Orange. Grey.

so if it is going to be a 5pm launch, who is going to the Glasgow store and at what time? I'm thinking about going in maybe about 10am on friday, don't really fancy queing through the day, I would have much preferred going really early like when the iPhone 4 was released. I was 7th or 8th in the que for the iPhone 4 at the buchanan street store and was in and out with my new phone in about 15 mins, I think they opened at 7am that morning, 1 hour earlier than publicised. I'm hoping that apple make an announcement midweek and decide on an early morning launch.

haha pink!

I'm after a blue smart cover to go with mine. Failing that, it'll be orange then green!

Do you know if you'll have smart covers aswell? And will the iPads be in every argos store or just selected ones?

Apologies if this has been asked already but search isn't helping much. I need to pickup a 3G model and was wondering if any carriers have confirmed they'll be stocking them in-store for launch day?

Thanks!

Complete shot in the dark but I would suspect the larger stores (CG & RS) could easily shift 20,000-25,000 each in a weekend. Apple must know/be prepared for that, they sold over 200,000 iPhone 4's on launch day alone so 200,000 over a weekend is nothing really I guess.
