Am I missing something? How about a phone? The iPad 2 has all that connectivity, but no phone? Do you want to carry around an iPad plus an iPhone? That's the reason I don't own an iPad.

No, don't put the iPad up against your ear, but use an earbud.

Has anyone gotten Skype to work on an iPad?

Why would you want to pay extra money every month for phone minutes and and SMS messages? Just use iMessage and Skype (Skype has a fully supported iPad app) and you basically have a phone anyway.

Phone again

Thanks for all your comments about an iPad/phone, especially about the Skype app. Now I'll be an iPad 2 or 3 customer :) And no, I won't be holding it up to my ear :)

So if i wait for iPad 3, would the AT&T 3G version be able to get the HSPA+ speeds?

I have a Verizon iPhone 4s and love it, but for iPad i would totally go to AT&T just to get the HSPA+ speeds lol

128 GB it will be cool! Let's hope apple will make it my 64GB can only hold 5-8 tv seasons of my shows#

I hope the iPad isn't out in Feb... I want it to wait til at least April. I don't think I'll have the $$ in Feb, and if I don't get it then, it'll likely take 6 mos before they're not on major backorder.

A 128 gig version would be nice just because it'll drop the prices on the others. My 64G first-gen still has 24 gig free, so I'd stay with a 64. If it has LTE I'd get a 3G, otherwise I'd probably just go WiFi.

My 1st gen is becoming unusable since iOS 5. It just doesn't have the RAM, so it's getting very sluggish/jittery after you open more than a couple of apps. I'll probably give it to my almost-6yo daughter... she loves the thing.

How reliable are these analyst reports anyway?

I just got an iPad 2, and technically have until January to return it under the extended holiday return policy... so if it really did come out Feb., that would be great, but if it came out in April, I'd just probably keep my iPad 2.

It's my first iOS product and I'm not usually an Apple consumer, so just curious about the reliability of these "analyst reports."

What are the prospects of a minimum capacity of 32gb? I love having the latest in tech gear, I plan to sell my current 32gb iPad 2 for an upgrade. I would prefer to have 32gb of storage. While I can fit everything onto a 16gb with a little room to spare, there is comfort in that extra breathing room.

Just for fun, wouldn't be interesting to have SIRI on the iPad 3 that we could direct to open apps, transfer photos, swipe left or right, play music, take Notes/Pages, not to mention, ask it to go to a website, so that we wouldn't have to mess up the screen with our smudgy finger prints ?

OK, go ahead and laugh, but I bet the day will come very soon that it will...:D

1.2 GHz dual-core Apple A6

iPad 3's charging dock will be on the elongated side and come with a keyboard to dock into, which will also increase battery life and provide computer functions such as file system, printer driver, USB ports, ect. It will be a mini MacBook when plugged into the keyboard dock, which can be folded like a real laptop when plugged in. And it can be used a the iPad itself when undocked. Sell your iPad 2's now.

If this were to happen its one of the only things that would stop me from selling my iPad 2 to upgrade to the 3. No offense but that's not what I want from a tablet.

I wouldn't buy that.

2012 is the year of resolutions.....

Higher resolution screen (retina), higher resolution cameras, a resolution to the war in Iraq...........see where I'm going.

----------

I'm betting a smaller iPad becomes the next iPod Touch.

....ummmm wouldn't that be ........the iPod touch...as it is now.....?

So it'll be just like a MacBook Air? Doubtful. Not going the way of the Asus tablet.

I am waiting for ipad3 simply because it will reduce the price of ipad 2.. as simple as that.. :)

iPad 2s are already down 100 bucks refurbished... made me want to pick one up.

My release day iPad 1 sold for only 100 less than I paid for it used, a good 20 months after I bought it.

I think now is as good as it gets.

I wish it would though... I love the styling of the Transformer Prime.

----------

My wish would be actually a 16:9 aspect ratio iPad... I know it'll never happen but it would make Airplay Mirroring so much nicer.

I hate the 4:3 image on my wide screen TV.

I agree hoping they will have a 128gb storage
