Wow, you really might be onto something. Great stuff!!

If your prediction proves true, you should eMail Arnold Kim if he has a job opening for you...

My 2¢:
The iPad 3 will have tactile feedback, but iOS 5.1 will only use it for the home button. iOS 6, with the introduction of the iPhone 5, will reveal the tactile feedback API for developers to use.

The OP is a legend for spotting this. I personally think there's something in it...

Something you have to SEE = Retina Display

and TOUCH = tactile display (since we've been touching the iPad screen for years now...)

I actually have butterflies for tomorrow now.

Don't get too many butterflies. Because you are more then likely going to set youself up for a big let down. There is no way the iPad 3 will incorporate a haptic feedback interface in any form. It's just too soon. No smart bezel. Nothing! When I first read the invite, I too thought "and touch" had to mean more then just the ability to touch the ipad. But the more I thought about it, that's exactly what it means. This event is going to be about the iPad3 and Apple TV. The focus is going to be on improved integration & function between the 2. Therefore, yes, "See" is going to be apple TV & "touch" is the iPad 3. If Apple TV wasn't in the mix I'd say we were in for a big surprise. But the fact that it is, changes everything.

I would LOVE to be wrong...And very well may be. But I'd rather go into the event with lower expectations and be blown away then the other way around.

Lol that stuff doesmt work for the home button. If they release that tactile feedback im 100% certain the keyboard will get it at least.

I totally agree with this right here and is exactly what I'm expecting. The Ipad 3 will play the roll of controling the apple tv in a very unique way as some sort of smart interactive remote.

If OP turns out to be incorrect, we must kill him for getting us all excited for nothing. If OP turns out to be correct, than we should kill him. And eat him... in the hope that we get his magic future-seeing flesh. :D

I certainly hope the iPad is getting this kind of tactile. I saw the CES 2012 video, and it was really odd to hear the Senseg-guy talking about visioneers.

I think you kinda missed the point with touching virtual sandpaper. It's the fact that the electrical field is good enough to mimic both the texture and friction of sandpaper... to a point.

So yes, for one, I would be super excited to touch virtual sandpaper :D. Not to often as it I don't see it having to many uses (although higher friction virtual buttons wouldn't hurt for games).

On the likehood this is in the iPad 3... ya I don't think it's likely either. Even if it was already good to go there's just so much else that is likely going to get crammed in as it stands. Personally this is why I am going to hold on to my iPad 2 and wait for the iPad 4 or 5.

If does turn out true then the OP should be given down vote immunity for life.

Everyone, please, stop getting so excited. I don't feel like reading hundreds of posts about how disappointed and let down you all are tomorrow night. So, to reiterate:

With 99.9% Likelihood:
SEE = Apple TV
TOUCH = iPad 3/HD

It's funny how the SenSeg guy is giving interviews and all these interviewers ask "when and where are we going to see this technology? Apple? Or...?" and than he says something like "We think the technology is going to be used by the end of 2012, but I can't say who is going to use it."

Moments later, the interviewer asks about "Have you tried to work with Rovvio [Angry Birds]?" and than he just clearly states "No... they are quite busy these days." - That's a subtle difference: he can't talk about hardware manufacturers, but is talking about visioneers (which reminds us all of Apple), but when another company is named they certainly do not talk with he is straightforward.

Apple don't really need to "Big up" the Apple TV. It is what it is. This media Event seems to be all about the iPad which Apple are trying with every effort to push in every industry they can get into.

Also, don't crush my dreams :p

I think this makes the most sense. Start it out with basic functionality like they did with Siri, keyboard and "zoom constraints" only. Then open the API up to developers for games and apps. In the next iOS they would add more fundamental features like tactile back/forward buttons, page scrolling features, etc..

If they do this, I don't think it will be with Senseg however. Based on that video it sounds like they are in beginning talks with tablet makers and havent started to work out the manufacturing issues - all of which takes way more than 3 months. Not to mention how long it would take to integrate the 3rd-party haptic backend into iOS. If they do implement something it will be home-grown or from another company like Immersion (who declined to comment when asked about working with apple) http://tabtimes.com/feature/ittech-...-ipad-3-offer-more-immersive-touch-experience).

As always, I'm trying not to get too excited about this because of the high likelihood we will just be disappointed tomorrow. But I think this is something apple would love to have before android starts building on it heavily, just imagine the tear-jerking video they play during the keynote tomorrow showing blind students learning how to read braille with an iPad.

thats what i thought. see the quotes from some pages back.
But then again, disney and apple are friends, and apple already had its own patent. I dont think it'l come from senseg if the ipad 3 has it.
And end of 2012 = not ipad 3 launch.
Its really shame those people dont get permission to talk about this. If now some hacking group would hack sensegs servers and get some sort of lists out or something...then suck a hack team might finally be useful for us:p

Bah, if there's something i want to see, its the tactile display tommorow.

This seems to be the prevailing factor influencing everybody involved in this thread at the moment. Anyone who would bet on tactile feedback should take a closer look at their logical decision-making process before actually making any more bets IRL.

thats why i said wake up earlier ^^
I have the "to good to be true" feeling, and it will stick until the announcement.

I hope the OP is right, but I won't hold my breathe.

What if the little hand in front of the big screen is a man sized hand in front of a TV? See the TV, touch the iPad to control it. We'll find out in 25+ hours. I'm pretty stoked any way this shakes out.

I have to too - but it is good to dream and disappointment is good for the soul (I think )

All the same, it's a bit dull and unispiring if 'see' just mean ATV and 'touch' means iPad

It's a bit dull and uninspiring if 'see' means higher resolution cameras and 'touch' means a new iPod touch.

I hope I eat this post tomorrow, but I agree with you. Despite how good Apple is of hiding things, we usually see the writing on the wall well before the event. We saw it with the 4s; some of us including me just didnt want to believe it. I would think that we would have already heard mention of it if Apple was using a tactile display for this iPad... I sure do hope I'm wrong because it looks badass!!!
