Everyone wants their purchase to be justified, so it seems convenient to trash the other option to make it the 'outsider' and to gain support from others.

Truer words were never spoken. That's why I don't ask anyone what they think of their new purchase...they never say it sucks!

How do you know this? Citation please.

Because Steve Jobs is dead. No citation is needed when you ask how we know Tim Cook is the boss now. /shrug

I would imagine that the iPad 4 won't sell like the previous iPads because it is really not too much of a jump. For me, I've gone every other year with the upgrades. I find much more value in the device if I hold onto it for two years before upgrading. Whatever the next iPad is will replace the 3 if I can. the 3 will be my new kitchen iPad and my iPad 1 (currently in my kitchen) will be donated.

I sold my iPad2 on Craigs for $250 and bought a like new iPad 3 for $350 just yesterday. One, because all I cared about was the screen. Two, processor means nothing to me, all I do is Safari on it and NO games. Three, I absolutely hate the new connector. I have far too many old style chargers, cables and doc.

Personally, my prediction is that iPad mini will be a huge success and ultimately replace the iPad entirely.

No way! Personally, there is no reason I could possibly think of to give up my full size for a mini.
