Forget lighter and thinner, I just want a Mac Pro!

Apple, stop messing us all around and just produce a new Mac Pro. And while you are at it how about producing a 'Mac' as not everyone needs the Pro.

Wha the hell is their fascination with being thinner? it doesn't make me int he slightest bit think about upgrading! I prefer the iPad 1 with the square edges as well..just faster, cheaper and a better OS would be nice..

Still got my iPad 2 and quite happy with that..where as every other person here in the UK is getting a Nexus! Talk about giving the market away..just produce something cheaper Apple.

Because an ambient light sensor is a make-or-break feature. Lol, complainers really love to expand their e-peens.

The lack of an optical drive ob the 2012 iMacs was a make or break feature for some. And that was removed in Apple ever growing quest for the ultimate in thinness. Apple always have a cute way to justify these changes. But in the end it's still the same. It's a tradeoff, thinness for less features. I say the short term is a loss to the user as a reduction of features. But long term you'll not need those features anymore and the compounding reduction in size (ie increasing thinness) over several generations of product really shows. And people appreciate it, whether they admit it or not.

Still only a 5MP rear camera? That would be quite a joke, Apple, wouldn´t it?

I hate the new iPad Mini design on the bigger iPad, it looks totally out of place. Why didn´t they just make it thinner and lighter, like the iPad 2, that one had the perfect mix of lightness and grip.

The new product name for the iPad 5:
iPad Not Mini

If there´s no new surprises, I´m gonna hold on to my trusty iPad 3. An iPad for real man.

I'm concerned about what the thinner design will mean for the battery. I would rather have a bigger battery life and better recharge than a sligthly thinner iPad.

I am sure you mean iPad (5th generation) As Apple stopped calling them iPad 2,3,4 etc after the 2nd one. it's iPad (X generation) now, or some fancy nickname. But about the nickname part I do laugh at your choice, it's funny.

iPad Mini? iPad 2?

They had the same chance when Microsoft released Vista and blew it. Mac OS X was light years ahead at the time. It was around that period the Mac became the poor forgotten cousin of their shiny new iToys.

If they'd only release a half decent, well priced Intel based midi tower with the ability to replace RAM, Video Card and hard drive, they'd clean up. But it's the one thing they're never going to do. You either get a choice of a "disposable" all-in-one held together by glue, or a ludicrously overpriced mega-tower that hasn't had a decent upgrade for years.

In the meantime, people all over the world compensate by making hackintoshes, none of which Apple sees a penny for.

That's the Mac that I would buy. I guess I'll have to wait forever for that computer. Otherwise, I'll be very happy to do my own computer.

If the iPhone goes back to unique and amazing instead of boring, I'll go back to it.
I'll stay with Apple just for the iPad. I would love to have a bigger iPad. I would love to haveone with the screen as big as a A4 sheet.

Always thinner, always...

Better that than the first iPad prototypes:

How about some cheese with that whine. They are producing a new Mac Pro. Do you have counter intelligence to prove they're not? You think a company with thousands of employees drops everything to work on one product at a time? You and everyone else at MR who rehashes this tired argument needs to put a sock on it.

Respectfully speaking.

Thinness not important. The iPad has always been a bit heavy for certain kinds of use. Any weight savings are great.

If the full sized iPad gets the "mini treatment" I think what is already a lovely device will just become that much more wonderful. The mini is a gorgeous device, and applying some of what makes it gorgeous to the full sized iPad is a good thing, and if the success of the mini is any indication of how well the full sized iPad will do given the same treatment, then I'm sure we're in for weeks to months of stock shortages and shipping delays when this iPad is launched.

But a marginally thinner, slightly lighter iPad will markedly change my life It will help my productivity, increasing my pleasure and boosting the economy because of it's magical lightness and thinness.

A Mac Pro, pfffffffff! We don't have the technology to make it thin and light enough, why bother, ya goof?!?!

:p

Remember the reason for large bezels in the first place? Steve said you hold it any way you want and the large bezel accommodates how you want to hold it. This is a step backward in functionality and change for changes sake. The worst kind of change. It actually gives credence to Samsung's design before the iPad mini and makes it really look like a huge iphone. It must be painfully clear to anyone now that Apple has run out of ideas. It has to steal from kickstarter or buy it's way to innovate.

Awesome! The current iPad is to heavy in my opinion. I also hope it ships with iOS 7. :D

So what's wrong with thinner? Oh wait, you're one of those people who constantly complain about Apple's every move and how they aren't innovating blah blah blah.

What's wrong with more battery or replacable batteries and storage instead of thinner?

The other model I'm eager to buy is a retina equipped Mini to replace the low res mini I have now. I knew this one would be a huge compromise with its current display but I knew the size was ideal

Just wondering. What reason do you have both a regular sized and a mini for? I just can't justify owning both, but would love an excuse to do so. Lol. :p

Gosh the rumours vary so much as of late. I can't remember a speculated apple product launch vary as much as 9 months, some said April some oct-November!

My mini is mostly for reading and web surfing before bed. My full size iPad is too heavy to do that comfortably unless I lay it on the bed. I'd rather hold it like a book though. At $320 it wasn't a huge decision to make.

I use my full size more for work related stuff. Now, when the iPad 5 rolls out things may change again and my need for the mini will have vanished. We'll see.
