Are you sure you are not confusing the ring/silent switch with a mute switch?
It's the same thing.

It's the same thing.
My 10/17 pre-order 5 minutes after launch is still "preparing for shipment," but I'm out of town until Friday night, so I'd be happy if it gets to me by then.
Well, because it is not really called the iPad Air 2. There was the iPad. Then there was the iPad 2 which was called the iPad. Then the iPad 3 came out ant was called, you guessed it, the iPad. The same with the iPad 4. Then there was the iPad Air. Then the iPad Air 2 which is called ....wait for it.....the iPad Air. The same thing with the iPhone now. It's just called the iPhone on the box. Either that or perhaps it's caused by solar flares.
I, for one, am glad that they didn't come out with an "iPad Pro" or a larger iPad of some kind (yet). This is what I *really* want to replace my hand-me-down iPad 3 BUT I still have this bad pain directly on my right buttocks area, just between the fabric of my jeans... it's sore...
I really need to recover from that first!!
boo-hoo. hand-me-down. feel so bad.
I think this is the point at which I stopped reading your complaint.
But then they can release an iPad Pro, so it would be:
MacBook Pro - big laptop
MacBook Air - smaller laptop
iPad Pro - big tablet
iPad Air - smaller tablet
iPad Mini - very small tablet
MacBook Mini anyone ?![]()
When you look at the naming conventions overall, it's a bit confusing.
iPad
iPad 2
The new iPad
iPad with Retina display
iPad Air
iPad Air 2
Unless you're an Apple fan, you'd be forgiven for being confused about which device fits where in the family. Even more confusing when you consider "Air" is the name of Apple's low-end laptops, but high-end tablets.
In closing I'd like to state that in my opinion, your hasty and incorrect reply to my post is the epitome of what's wrong with these forums.
I don't find the retina display on my wife's iPad Air worthy enough for the upgrade.
Now A8x chip and 2GB of Ram is a different story. But again, needs to optimize their iOS to take full advantage of the new power and speed.
It probably saved some space internally. And since there is a software solution in the Control Center it's consistent with Apple's design philosophy.
Lol, true!
That guy set a low bar... =P
So are the iPads on display at the apple store now?
Speaking of 'Wanna look at my brand new iPhone 6, the FIRST ONE EVER bought! Ooops!' boy, what happened? Did he break it, crack it, scratch it?
That was pretty epic...
A very sound argument sir. All the correct format and points, well other than the rabid screaming through the internet all caps uber defensiveness. I imagine you'll get a B+ or A- for your paper. I assume this was simply the cliff notes, and you'll be turning in the full text for your grade.
Let us know how you like that class when its over.
Now just calmly reboot and move on.
Has anyone in the US had their cellular iPad Air 2 ship? I ordered the 64gb space gray cellular on the 17th and it still shows processing!![]()
