Your iPhone 6 Plus has a mute switch.

Really? A mute switch that works like the mute switch on the iPad? Where? And can it be used as a rotation lock switch?

Are you sure you are not confusing the ring/silent switch with a mute switch?

WiFi or Cellular?

Someone posted a screen shot referencing delays and they had a cellular version coming. I ordered a WiFi only one and it should be here any minute. Just curious if those experiencing delays ordered a cellular or WiFi?

I don't think so.. the point is that they AREN'T following course.

There is no predictable naming strategy, either successive generations of a product line, or comparisons between different products.

Maybe next year the iPad will enable multiple user profiles and we'll get... wait for it...

The iPad Share.

Oh wait, Apple wants each person to have their own so we spend more $$, that won't happen.

Maybe iOS 9 can finally bring:

Kindle like parental controls for time limits, content/app usage restrictions, etc. unlike the horrible current restrictions, passcode lock, and allowing content by ratings.

And while you're at it Apple, iOS 6.1 promised, Auto-correct and Auto-complete for external Bluetooth keyboards, and never delivered.

Yes, most, if not all, of those who ordered a cellular model (including me) haven't seen any shipments yet: we're still in "processing". I ordered mine as soon as Apple.com went live on the 17th. See this thread:

I, for one, am glad that they didn't come out with an "iPad Pro" or a larger iPad of some kind (yet). This is what I *really* want to replace my hand-me-down iPad 3...

boo-hoo. hand-me-down. feel so bad.

I think this is the point at which I stopped reading your complaint.

Still rocking my 3+ yr old iPad 2. I have no plans on upgrading the device until software dictates.

Is this crazy?

So people have something to complain about.

Why isn't there a Wifi-on/off switch on the iPad? Or a "Launch camera" button on the iPhone? I would use these much much more often than the mute/lock switch. Yet nobody complains about the lack of a Wifi or camera button.

This!!!!

I have only ever used that switch like five times in the last 4 years of using iPads.
Thrice on purpose & twice panicking, thinking my rotation sensor is broken... as I force reboot, because my iPad refuses to change rotation.... only to finally notice that that little switch that almost nobody uses got accidentally flipped.

Exactly. 80% of the time when I have "used" the rotation lock, I have done so accidentially. Quite annoying. And no, I am not going to pretend that I jumped for joy when I found out it will be gone on future iPad. It's just not something I really care about at all.

If there was a button for everything every individual thought there should be a button for, the iPad would look like a Lego panel.

Things are moving along

Well, now it's changed to "Dispatching in 24 hours".

They also seem to have added an APPLE SIM-GBR to my order.

Is the SIM-GBR - pronounced "Jibber" that little metal paperclip to open the SIM compartment? Used in context - "You need the Apple SIM Jibber to open that SIM tray"?

(JOKE)

If it works for you - why not? I also don't need a new iPad (I own an iPad 1 and 3, and I am still happy at least with the iPad 3). I just expect the iPad Air 2 experience to be more enjoyable in terms of it being more "snappy". And right now, my wife switches to the iPad 1 whenever I use the 3, so I want to have two "fast" iPads in my household.

But if someone is happy with an earlier iPad, there's nothing crazy about saving the money and not buying a newer device.

I don't understand why anyone would view this guy as stupid, when it's Apple that's is stupid.

If you make a product called the iPad Air, then next year, you release a new model and you as a company call it the iPad Air 2.

Then why as a company would you seal it inside a box with iPad Air written on the outside.

That is the only stupid aspect going on here.

Seriously. Has anyone had the wrong iPad delivered or picked up? Curious to know at retail stores where some associates don't even know the difference between iPads and galaxy tabs let alone iPads.

It's worth upgrading just for the display.

I don't find the retina display on my wife's iPad Air worthy enough for the upgrade.

Now A8x chip and 2GB of Ram is a different story. But again, :apple: needs to optimize their iOS to take full advantage of the new power and speed.

Is it definitely on sale in Stores? If so I'll need to get my wife to pop into the Apple Store in Hamburg (DE) and pick one up for me. I was expecting them to go on sale on Friday.

Yeah, but the switch was a serious breakthrough and had a lot of use. Remember when the first iphone had it and it blew everyone away? The only way to mute a phone before then was to go deep into settings and profiles and find the silent mode.

My order must have been stuck in some weird twilight zone.

I ordered my 128GB LTE Air 2 on Friday @ 11:05AM (5 minutes after the store came online) and my iPad is still "processing" Really a shame that customers are already receiving theres and mine hasn't even left China.
