Walked out of BB with an open box cellular 16gb Air 2 for $429. Score.

I will sell my prior Air 2 for anything reasonable and still be happy considering the price I just got the cellular for.

My IPP is a goner.

Have you recently attempted to sell an Air 2?

Not an Air 2, but I did just sell an iPad mini 2 (128GB, almost-mint condition) for $325. So along with the Best Buy deal, I only had to pay a little less than $200 out of pocket for a new mini 4 128gb (wifi only, which I prefer). Not a bad deal at all. :)

You took the exact words out of my mouth. The two most complaining members on MR (in regards to what can't get that the U.S has) are the UK and the Canadians. Yet there are many things they get that the U.S. doesn't and I don't see the U.S. members constantly complaining about it. I wish we could get free healthcare like they do in Canada. I would trade a holiday iPad deal for that any day of the week. ;)

Yeah, we're a load of ole serial whingers us Brits. It gets us through the day making others feel bad  Im told other nations are not afflicted with this complaining mentality. Your post confirms americans dont complain and are thankfully not afflicted...Good to know. Cheers ;)

After giving my wife my old iPad Air 2, getting the iPad Pro, returning it, and now getting the iPad Air 2 again - it feels so small!!!

Ha I bet it does.
Im yet to see a pro in the flesh but I was never in the market for one anyway, I'm very happy with my Air 2.

iPad Air 3 with Apple pencil support and a better screen is on my wish list. iPad Air 2 is a good device only crippled by iOS 9 and updates that sometimes cause bugs.

125-150 off a device more than a year old is just standard pricing to me. Nothing special. Not a great deal. We'll see this pop up all the time. Same with 100 off watches and iphones this late in the cycle.

Very tempting but I just can't do it. It's that damned screen and chassis vibration problem that keeps me away. Ugh. I'll have to wait for the 3 and see what they do.

Yes. But its still the current standard sized flagship ipad. $125-150 drop is significant for top tier apple

That's what I'm doing as well. $125 is a decent discount, but I'm going to wait until the Air 3 arrives. The Air2 has about 11 hours of battery life and that's not enough for me.

If i were into hauling my iPads around,i would jump on that deal.
But my two standard WiFi only iPads never leave the house.

I did almost the same thing. I gave my wife Air 2, than I got the Pro. I have been thinking about returning the Pro. Then went I ahead bought the Air 2 again. Now I am having hard time letting go the Pro.

Lol..I do somewhat miss it!

It's just hard to swallow the increased price, especially after the sale price the air 2 is going for..

This is what I was trying to say before it got all twisted 2 ways from Sunday.

You're talking about an over 1 year old device that is going to be replaced soon one way or another (either in 3-4 months or 9-10 months).

It will be $100 off MSRP as the standard price once the new model comes anyway- all old iOS devices go down $100 when the new one comes out.

What I had said earlier was I will wait to see what the Air 3 offers and then make a decision. If the Air 3 isnt that big an upgrade (which I still think it will be with the A9x and possibly 3D Touch) then an Air 2 will still be about the same price it is now. It's not a "special" deal you won't see again anytime soon.

It's like buying a car at the end of the model year before knowing if the new one will substantially change or not; even if its the same full price and not discounted it may be worth that full price (versus discounted older model). If they dont overhaul it and you can get the old model year at a discount then its a well worth it informed decision.

Although the device is over 1 year old, the iPad Air 2 does have the longevity factor going for it. It's not limited by a slow processor or low ram. Many people will get at least another good year and half out of it; therefore it's still a valuable deal. If this tablet wasn't lightning fast I would be speaking a different note, but I'm looking forward to the iPad Air 3 as well. I definitely would not tell others to not buy the iPad Air 2. If anything, get it now and enjoy it but sell it once the iPad Air 3 comes out if you really have a need for the latest and greatest.

Not disagreeing the Air 2 doesnt work just fine. Just not a "must buy" for me even at $125 off. They'll be $100 off regular price say if the Air 3 drops at the spring event (or whenever it does) anyway. It's not the deal of the century to jump on for me.

It wouldve been good deal at Staples on Black Friday at $150 off, plus the 5% cash back on my credit card for office supply stores, plus 2% having a Staples account and 2% through Ebates. It would've literally been $400 for a 64gb. Too bad they sold out in an hour early Thanksgiving morning and they never restocked like other stores for actual Black Friday or that weekend.

Reselling now vs waiting is losing money. Even at $374/$474/$574 you're going to lose $50-100 as resale values go down and plummet come rumors of the new model when the resale market gets flooded with them. On Swappa right now a 64gb avg selling price (mint/new) is only $426, and falls $10-15 each month. Even come spring if Apple releases then, it'll be down another $40-50 from there. That's nearly a $100 loss on a 64gb even buying the iPad $125 off.

Again, just not urgent enough a need for one that I want to take any loss on it, even only $50. Buying at the end of the cycle makes no sense to me until they are deeply discounted when the new version comes out (and if it isn't worth full price which I dont think after 1.5-2 year cycle by by time the Air 3 hits that it will only be better cameras and a faster processor type upgrade)

Not having them side by side i wonder how much faster, the iPad air2 is then my old iPad4?
I have played with the iPad2 air at BestBuy but their service provider and WiFi is not even close to what i have at home with my WiFi and cable.

For many day to day tasks the performance diffence won't be huge. Depends on the apps and what tasks you're doing. The Air 2 has beefier hardware no doubt but again, mileage will vary depending what yer doing.

How have the iPad2 air been holding up? My old iPad4 is really built strong, first bought a protection type case but found it not needed.

The Ipad Air 3 will not be $499 folks. Wanna bet?? :)

The Air 2 is one of the best tablets on the markets even after this time period and at its initial price, for $125 off I think that warrants a pretty good deal. Get an open box and even better.
