I walked into the Apple Store expecting nothing. They had arrived 10 minutes before I arrived. 10 minutes before I arrived. 128GB Gold wifi.

First one sold. :)

Are there separate cellular models?

Go on the Apple site and pretend to order a cellular model. The process seems to lack a "select your carrier" option. It lists the carriers but doesn't seem to have an option to choose one of them. I can get all the way to checkout without selecting a particular carrier. Is the new iPad compatible with ALL of them?

I called the Upper West Side location around noon and they told me they didn't have any iPads in stock and that they might not have any stock until next week.
They told me to order online.

Either Apple employees had no clue (?) or they were told to lie to customers?
Very strange.

The wifi only versions are at MOA. I was going to wait a couple months but will probably stop and pick one up on my way home.

Yes, one model.

Yes. Out of the box, the U.S. cellular model supports AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. For Verizon, you'll need to go to a Verizon store and swap out the SIM card.

when does target get their shipment? can you use a target card and get the 5 percent off?

I'm not sure when they'll have them in store (probably sometime next week if I had to guess) but you can preorder them at Target.com. I preordered mine yesterday and it still says processing so I'm not entirely sure when they'll ship it. I'm willing to wait since with my redcard and employee discount I saved $87

They are available in Madison WI. However, not the WiFi+Cellular. The latter is obviously not worth the initial cost and monthly costs for most, but I've found it indispensable.

Awesome. I'm doing that. Thanks!

I will be waiting until next year for a new iPad, I want a new design change.

Not being ass but what redesign can they do? I just pick this up and it is as thin as the lightning cable - in other words there is no where to go from here.

It will always be a piece of glass with aluminum - can't see what more can they add do this?

Waiting for mine to be delivered in Canada by UPS. Apple prepared if for shipping yesterday. If I am lucky UPS will pick it up tomorrow. Then a day to get it to Canada, a day to process it in their facility, another two days to ship it to where I am in Canada (only the third largest city). Lastly another day to deliver to my place of business.

So, from Apple to me, if I am lucky, six to ten business days. In Canada UPS is pronounced "Oops".

Seems like the wifi+cellular models are lagging it everywhere. I would like to get one today.

So, the iPhone 6 had Call Gate and Bend Gate.

ApplePay had Pay Gate.

The Mac Mini had the Down Gate.

I wonder what will be the iPad's thing. Battery Gate?
And u have im 12-Gate:eek: just kidding lol

I'm really pissed because I called the Manhasset location earlier and got the same response. Since the weather is crummy. Mabey I'll hit the 5ave store about midnight.

holograms for starters the list goes on. And don't think it's always going to have an aluminum back.

Wifi Only Models are available for Personal Pickup!

No more 32gb option :/ That was the sweet-spot for my usage patterns.

Some people's heads explode if they cant find SOMEthing to complain about...

double performance
double ram
thinner
lighter
etc, etc.

"but wait, no mute switch"
"and, no 32GB option....those bastards!"

btw, "usage patterns"?

lol.

I have an ipad mini though. And was thinking of upgrading to the 3

Guys, what do yout think about the following. I really was thinking about getting an iPad Air 2 (would be my first iPad), but I'm tending to think I should just probably get a last gen iPad mini for almost half the price. Actually, I don't really feel the need of an iPad, never felt really... my life is already plenty comfortable with my MBA and my iP5. And now that the last year's mini became pretty affordable, I guess now I could jump on the iPad train without spending a whole lot of money on something that I don't particularly need but I am definitely curious about.
