And there are more than a few Apple apologists that confuse design flaws with MAGIC.

And there are more than a few wanna be designers/experts in here that confuse STUPIDITY with design flaws.
You my favourite so far but I'm sure the feeling is mutual.
Apple surely messed up this year, 0.00001% of iPhones 6 plus were bend and now 0.000.1% costumers complained about vibrations on the iPad Air 2. This Jony Ive guy sucks so badly, he must be a novice in design. I mean what has brought to the design table in, let's say, the last DECADE.
Top that off with the massive disaster that was iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite , the company that's now worth more than the entire Russian stock market is going down. It's officially the end, Tim Cook is a failure, Steve would have never... if Apple only knew about these wise MacRumors posters in here there migh be some hope left. MEH

I know a bad iPad that will be sleeping with mommy tonight.

This just reminds me of the one flaw Apple had when the iPad first came out. Not enough woman on the marketing side. You could almost predict what would come next. The Mini. And the rumored Maxi...er...I mean Pro.

Yep, I knew Apple was up to something. Time to appeal to women more! Hence the mini, maxi, and the vibrating.

:D

I am still loving my new iPad Air 2!!!

Funny thing is- If the sound was not loud enough, that would have been the "issue".......so funny

"numb fingers" - REALLY??? AS IF.... lol

You CAN get superficial numbness from holding something that is vibrating for prolonged periods. Just because YOU personally haven't experienced something doesn't mean it's impossible. AS IF.

I'm loving my iPad air 2 as well, especially the 2gb of ram that just changes everything.
The numb finger bs just takes it to a new level of ridiculousness. If you get number fingers Im surprised that you can even hold the 430+ grams the iPad Air 2 weighs.
Unreal, I wonder what's next :D

The extra ram doesn't do much of anything until Apple wakes the hell up and gives us multitasking. The fact that I can't put NFL Network on one side of my screen while browsing on the other side is just pathetic.

Because the competition that does "real" multitasking is doing so great. Consumers just love to have 2 tiny apps next to each other on a 7-10inch screen. We will most likely get it soon anyway according to hidden ios code.
You should wake up or maybe you are one of these

Yeah, I had a Note 3 and multitasking was useless.

My friend with his Galaxy s4 was showing me splitscreen and he was very proud of it. I was thinking to myself really, you can barely see ****, it's laggy and basically useless.
It will eventually happen tho and knowing Apple they will implement it in a cool way. Even than I still don't really see the benefit outside of maybe replying to an email or message while watching YouTube, but then I can do this already with iOS 8. Maybe for browsing the web and writing notes but Meh. I think tablets are all about immersive full screen apps and that's how a tablet is mainly used 99% of the time.

I think the note 3/4 does some cool stylus stuff and even though I'm not a stylus fan I wonder how you found them? Useful in everyday life or mainly a gimmick?

The iPad Pro is rumored to have split screen. That's been "pushed back" to 2nd quarter 2015 though, supposedly because of manufacturing issues.

Yeah I have the suspicion, given the iOS 8.1 (already released) 8.2 and 8.3 rumors, that we will get split screen before iOS 9. I'm sure they will also make it work for iPad Airs 2 because it has 2gb of ram. I wonder what they will do for iPad minis and 6plus's. They will probably skip them like they skipped landscape mode for the iPhone 6, which sucked.

First world problems. Looooooooooolz.

I'm reading about people with numb fingers due to vibrations from using the screen and playing music at the same time. Is this even a thing? No split screen multi tasking, and so on.

Could this thread please die. Too many rich people here that can't appreciate ****.

For some inexplicable reason, Android versions of apps like Evernote and Microsoft OneNote have screenwriting built into the app directly, whereas in the iOS versions, you have to use another app to write on the screen, then import into those apps. For note taking in apps like that, the stylus was great because you could make a super-thin line for writing and you could actually write legibly for more than two words per line due to the fine writing.

But other than that, the stylus never came out. I suppose if you like drawing, the stylus is great for that too.

I can only imagine the screen vibrations coming out of that thing.

Really guys, your response to this is to belittle those that have issues? You may not have problems with the vibrations but that doesn't mean others don't, and it certainly doesn't give you a right to think you can "educate us".

yeah thats what I thought basically. Quite nice once in a while, especially for a lot of note taking (which I don't do), but not really all that useful in everyday life. Thanks

The teaching didn't relate to the numb thumbs. Im sure some of the women, I mean men in this thread will get numb fingers and its a real problem for them.
Its the people that think this apparent issue, like Bendgate, affects EVERYONE. They think apple failed, payed everyone off or made a massive design flaw because some people are complaining in forums or post bend iPhone 6 pictures on twitter. End of Lesson 1 :D

I do actually love that on my Galaxy Note 10.1. Being able to have a document open at the same time to reference while studying is quite convenient, much better than having to slide to the side with the iPad.
While it would be nice for the display to be larger, it isn't that tiny that it is impractical to use.

Or, if you don't feel the vibrations, you'd best go see a neurologist since your brain and sensory organs aren't working well together.

Agreed that the finger numbing DOES take it to a "new" level of ridiculousness. It's ridiculous that the Air 2 vibrates so badly on the screen itself. Comical. :p

Can anyone, who agrees that this is an off putting trait, comment on if a case (smart case or similar) helps to alleviate the problem, and if so by how much?

I like you man. But this really is a non issue. Put your iPad eq mode into 'late night'. This will even out the low and high ranges.
