FYI this actually fixes the stutter when pinching to leave the app, though the bottom icon bar has a weird visual glitch at the end. I see patches for iOS 7, though I'm surprised the pinch animation glitch made it through testing. It really is jarring.

Call me surprised too... it's so obvious too, seems like a simple fix.

I'm also noticing lag on some apps. Sometimes even scrolling on the iTunes Store can be a little laggy. I hope this is just a software issue.

Lag

I exchanged my Ipad air today because of the lag , and its the same, slower ipad ever. And also the iphone 5s cuz of the loose power buttton. And it was the third one with the same problem.

NO amount of RAM or insane processor that Apple brags about will change the fact that its iOS 7 that needs to be fixed.

I can confirm after testing a mini, iPad 2 and iPad air that it looks like its all the crazy blurring thats casuing these hiccups. The iPad 2 uses a simple transparency and thats why certain things like the pinch to home screen, rotation etc. are not as laggy. If they can tweak that, I think all would be better.

My iPhone 5S was laggy also. Turns out that when you first install it downloads all the updates (to apps) in the background and will be sluggish until that finishes. I also use iTunes Match and that was downloading the list also.

App Store

I'm experiencing lag when I click on a photo preview. It's very slow when going to full screen to show off the preview. Anyone else experience this?

Turn on increase contrast in accessibility. It gets rid of all the lag inducing transparency.

It did not.

Same lag. Too crappy. Maybe return and buy an macbook air. What do you think? I have ipad 4 running smooth with ios 6.1

Scrolling slowly in web browsing or using the tapatalk app produces jittery and choppy scrolling. Please tell me this is a software issue. I stopped in to best buy the other day just to mope round for cases and I messed with the 16gb wifi only ipad air they had on display. The scrolling on that one was flawless and smooth. Sat there for 10 minutes trying to replicate the lag I experienced with my ipad air but couldn't do it.

It's there a difference between the two models?

I have your EXACT issue. At least I'm not the only one.
I've got an iPad Air 1 32gb cellular.

I've checked out the official Apple store, some official resellers and other various shops I've run into and the problem is there. I could replicate the lag on most of the ipad air 1 running ios 8.3 whereas those still running ios 8.2 were less affected by this issue. From my own experience ipad air 2 seems immune.

I have restored as new putting the ipad in DFU mode, turned off all the motion things and background app refresh rubbish with no improvement.
