You guys married the wrong woman....I told my wife I ordered it and she said "when do I get my Retina Mini?" I knew she was the right woman when I told her I was getting a new TV and she asked what size screen....after I answered, she said "get a bigger one"....beauty and brains (her, not me)

Any chance your wife might have a sister that is single? :)

For anyone that is curious, my iPad Air fits perfectly balance on my TwelveSouth HiRise (that is made for iPhone 5/5s/5c, iPad Mini).

Popped into MK store at lunch, had a play with one, but my main reason for going in was to look at the mac mini. They only have one (mini) on display and guessed it would be unloved! Had plenty of time to play and of course all the staff were busy... Perfect!

Plenty seemed to be buying airs and not being turned away. It's usually pandemonium in there and given it's the last day of half term hols, i'd say not overly busier than I expected.

Got one from Target at $479 - 5% redcard + tax for $492. "Return by" date is January 2014 :)

WTH, I just got my Pick E-Mail and is says my iPad is "Shiping to Store. My case is ready to Pick-UP. I go to Apple.com and check my order Status; it says the case is ready for pick up but the iPad is available today and still processing.
Trying to decide what to do. I'm leaving for Florida Monday morning. I didn't have it shipped since they said they had one. Now, if I have to wait I might cancel and get it online and free engraving.

Anyone else having issues with in-store pick up?

My wife and I pay $0/month to send our nonexistent children nowhere.

Ha ha. Kids are expensive. Especially when my 3 year old is using the 64gb iPad 4 and now my 1 year old is using the lte 64gb iPad 3.

That's really my justification for getting another iPad Air for myself.

ordered, but couldn't pick up

I ordered this morning for in store pickup. showed up about 30 minutes early, and there were only 2-3 of us in line in the ISP line. Great I thought, 2 minutes in and out. But, once we got inside, the store wasn't able to process the ISP orders at all, and it took over 20 minutes to cancel and walk out with a new unit.. All the other people in the regular line were done and gone in about five minutes. :-(

But all's well that ends well. Nice new unit and apple store folks are always so pleasant - at least early in the morning.. ;-)

Picked Up

Woke up at 9:30am. Grabbed a Coffee and toast. Drove to my local Staples, walked in and asked the sales guy if they had any of the New iPad Air in stock? Guy looks at me and says, what color what size, we have loads! Picked up Silver 64gb for my wife and Space Grey 128gb for me. Only thing was they didn't have any cases, got to be careful for a week.... ;)

Home and all set up by 10:30am. very nice upgrade indeed.

When I explained the T-Mobile deal to my wife she said "Can't pass up a deal like that. OMG a new iPad." LOL.

Does anyone else think that $399 for a 16GB iPad 2 is ludicrous? I think $499 for a 16GB device with a 720P camera is overpriced. I could understand $399 for a 16GB iPad "Air" and ~$249-299 for a 16GB iPad 2.

These prices aren't pushing me or anyone I know to rush out and grab a new iPad to replace our 4's or even 2's. For most people, it's a device primarily for entertainment; movies, games, video communications, email. It may be lot for some, but I do agree that lacking side-by-side application usage on a 64-bit device with 1GB RAM is rather silly at this point. Swiping through app's when I need to work with two running on a project is cumbersome. Screen sharing would be great for those on the road, facilitating collaborative projects. Until iOS makes better use of the device for more work applications, it will be a complementary device to desktop and laptop systems, at $499+ it seems way too steep and I own a 6-Core Mac Pro5,1 w/ 2 27" displays and quite a bit more so I've never shied away from price but I can't rationalize the prices.

Ordered a 16 GB from Walmart for $460 shipped, after tax, after cash back (Discover 5% for online + 5% for ShopDiscover). Not a bad deal.

Its on sale at staples for 479 lol.
But they don't have them in store local to me.
I'm seeing Walmart has them online for $479 also but not in store (sold out)
I'd like to find someplace that has them in store for the $479 price so that I could price match that at Best Buy and then get rewards points to boot.
Other option is Amazon but as usual they do not even have them on rollout day

Aren't iPads sold by 3rd party resellers on Amazon?

True. But prices are ridiculous at the moment - round about 100€ premium at the moment - at least in Germany...things will change of course once Amazon itself will step in. But until now it didn't.

:) WOOT. I got my iPad 128 GB Space Gray AT&T though personal pick up. Even though the pick up E-mail said it was shipping to store. When I went to pick up the other stuff on the order, they brought out my iPad. The system still said it was not there. So they had to cancel my online order and then I bought it in-store.

Am I the only one who really can't stand the term "space grey" on the ipads? Ipads have been either black or white with a silver backing since ... well, forever. It just sounds so pretentious, "space grey."

Funny you should bring this up. The description Label on my Space Gray is "MF015LL/A iPad Wi-Fi Cellular 128GB BLK ATT" No SPGY or anything like that but BLK for Black. LOL
