i know this is off topic, but really this whole thread is now anyway:), what photo editing apps do you use on your ipad?

And I totally agree on the whole price and specs thing. I don't think thats what anyone here was solely basing there opinions on though. But I do see way to many people doing this, and really most Android products can only sell themselves this way.

My staple photo apps are iPhoto for basic processing, PhotoForge 2 for layers, lens and filter effects. Phototoaster and Snapseed. I use a handful of others on occasion but it depends on what exactly I need.

Off topic, maybe? But the comment was made that iPads can't be used for content creation. I use it all the time, so it's hard to let that stand without a response.

Thanks, I have iPhoto and Snapseed, I just play around though. I'm trying to learn, I will have to take a look Phototoaster:).

initially, i thought this was some one trolling for the 7" form factor, but it seems--sadly--that there is now a large number of people who cannot make a reasoned buying decision. I mean--forget the wrong size issue--why buy an ipad 1 for $300 when you can have a new ipad 2 for a hundred dollars more? Do you really need a 3g ipad if you have a phone? And 16 gb is fine--but that issue has been debated to death.

I felt somewhat similar when I got my iPad, though mine is a iPad 3, 16gb 3G.
I like it much more than when I originally got it.

I think you just need to give it some time.

Seriously? Nexus 7?

Use the ipad 1, if you do a lot of surfing, email, pictures, basic stuff like that I think you will like it. Just go a weekend or week without using your computer, use only the ipad, then see what you think after that. Find some good apps and fun games for it too.

Don't give the guy bad advice.

Either get the a NEWER iPad or get the Nexus 7.

Both are better than the 1st gen iPad.

The iPad 1 was terrific in 2010. Now its 2012 and there are way better choices out there.

Not that much has changed with the ipad, for those basic tasks I would take an ipad 1.
