Those look preety normal to me(FREE FROM THE YELLOW TINT, IF THAT IS WHAT U WANNA KNOW :) ) But somehow they look very dim have u reduced the brightness a little too mcuh ?

Thanks for the reply. No, I had brightness to 100%. I took photo in the dark w a kitchen light on. It was bad lighting?

Lol I compared it to store models and it didn't seem any dimmer. The only thing is I think the battery drains slightly more than my other iPad that had a pink tint so that's kind of a bummer. I hated turning in that ipad bc I thought the battery was like the ipad2.

Center brighter than sides?

So is the center brighter than the sides? I got a new iPad (Verizon White) and the center seems to be brighter than the sides. I can see that also in the 3 pictures posted before this message. Is that what we should expect?

The new iPad seems to have a narrower viewing angle than the iPad 2.

I notice a slight fall in luminosity at the top and left of the screen while reading texts on white.

Maybe it's too subtle compared to your issue....so: do you think mine is a typical uneven display?

Thank you all.

EDIT: attachement is rotated 90° left

Again I'd call that typical crappy LCD tech. I think it's fine.

Still it's a shame that my previous iPad 2 had a perfect screen (but unresolutionary) and this resolutionary iPad 3 got resolution and lost evenness of the backlighting.

:(

I'd say your screen looks pretty good. No color tinting. Looks a little yellow around the edges but maybe it's bad photo. It's hard getting accurate phot of what it looks like in reality.m

Keep it!

In fact that yellow edges (that I perceive as darker) are there and noticeable reading a white background page.

Hmmm not sure. I guess if it doesn't go away and you try the burn in method, exchange.

Exchanged at the Apple Sotre. 3 times in fact in a row.
Each of the first 2 had a defect (light bleeding mostly and uneven backlit).

The tech guy told that the 3rd would be the last then they'll refound.
Luckily the 3rd was the right one.

There's no question: poor quality control checks at Foxconn.
You have to search and swap until you find the rare spotless unit.

Believe me, most people hardly recognize this kind of problems and this is a blessing for Apple ;)

Mine has the same issue, sort of. The screen is great except for the top left corner which is darker when displaying something white.

It doesn't bother me that much but I definitely do not like it. I'll give it one more week of use hoping it will fade away and if it doesn't I'll exchange it.

OMG the exact same issue as me!! See my thread:

Looks like sharp is read to mass produce its IGZO screen, hopefully it gets to the Ipad3 soon enough to resolve all of these screen related issues.

Just thought I'd throw my hat in here. I had the yellow tint on the top third of my screen and exchanged it for a new iPad. This one is so much better. But I do see a slight pinkish hue on the lower half of the screen (which seems to be more related to viewing angle) but you really have to look hard to find it. My previous one was very obvious and distracted me while typing. I'm happy now. So if you're not happy go to your nearest Apple store.
