Just got the prepared for shipment on the US site. Movement at last.

Me too, at long last!

You and I were amongst the very earliest to order but Apple kept us hanging on for a day. Don't understand it at all, particularly as you got order confirmation very quickly as well. In my case the confirmation email took over 11 hours so I put the delay down to that.

Not to worry now, all is forgiven. :)

Now it's gone to shipped status. No email yet, but not worried about that. No money taken yet either. It's shipping by TNT (UK) and they gave a tracking number.

Ordered a 3g 32 gig with case and camera connection Kit at 1:35 am on the 10th and still nothing for me, not even any preparing for shipment in either us or uk stores - Still hopeful but seeing all you guys getting your emails does make me slightly paranoid :)

I'm starting to think it might be down to the sim cards.

Well, my order has an O2 SIM and it's shipped. When I spoke to Apple they simply said 'the ordering system is overwhelmed, but all pre-orders will deliver by launch day' (obviously the first batch, not the June batch).

My (seperate) accessories order is also now 'shipped'.

Hang in there :)

Because it seems to give information long before the EU site does. For example the only change I can see on the EU site is that I cannot cancel my order now as that option has greyed out. It's not obvious. Also still says not yet shipped as it has done all the time. The US site now tells me it's at the next stage of movement, prepared for shipping.

Ah, I see! I'm actually surprised the sites are linked.

Sorry should have said, I ordered a 16gb 3G model with O2 sim at about 630am Monday morning.

4 months of waiting is coming to a close!

64GB 3G :D

Do you think the smaller Apple stores (Brighton) will still have a 16GB WiFi in stock at around 5PM?

My iPad case shipped this morning. Although I have no idea who the shipper is!

"G3 WORLDWIDE NETHERLANDS BV"

Their website has no obvious tracking facility, although I do have a tracking number. So, number but nowhere to enter it. Hmm..

yup same here...

my accessories all shipped yesterday..."Postal delivery - please allow 5-10 days for delivery". I doubt I can do much in the way of tracking...oh well.

The 16GB will be the first one to sell out probably, you need to get to the store first thing!

if they have any... I'm not sure any stores will have them.. I think Apple are finding it hard to handle all the pre-orders.

They moved the ship date for pre-order only after 2 days. That implies a very high demand.

Have to admit I've felt a little left out with everyones orders being dispatched etc. Checked mine last night and it still hadn't gone. Anyway got an email this morning from apple saying it is on it's way! Was begining to think something was up with my order. Happy days.

For those picking up I think the stores will have a fair bit of stock. I was at the Trafford centre on Friday just thought I'd chance the apple store to see if they had any ipads to play with. No luck. Speaking to one of the girls in there I played a bit dumb saying I thought I could get one now blah blah she said if I come back next Friday they will have "plenty to play with and plenty of stock".

Yeah I spoke to someone at my local store yesterday and they said they will have stock you just have to get there early to avoid disappointment!

Well that's really not in my favour because I have a Physics exam first thing Friday morning. >:/

I agree, I think the 16GB will be the first to go. It's the cheapest and just the model people who want to dip their toe in the water would buy. I think they will have plenty of stock. If they haven't reserved a fair bit after al the advertising and hype, then it will go down like a lead balloon. I suspect fairly big queues though and that fair bit of stock not lasting very long.

Just think if they run out by lunch time. TV reports showing Apple looking so surprised at stocks vanishing so fast. Best free publicity they could have.

I disagree. This is the model I am buying, yet I'm fully submerged (to carry on the water theme :)) as I have bought about 20 apps already before even really getting to hold it. I just don't need a higher capacity that's all, I don't have a massive library and I am happy to sync if needs be. I would hardly describe paying £429 for a 1st gen device as 'dipping their toe', some people just don't need or want higher capacity or 3G. End semi-rant :)
