Smaller aircraft are rather constricted in space.
The new Mini should be popular with GA crowd.
I was thinking the same thing. The Mini will also be popular to mount in cars. The regular iPad was too big.

Our take on the iPad mini? We are fans. ForeFlight Mobile runs beautifully on the mini. It runs cooler and has a great feeling "slate" anodized aluminum case. Pilots in smaller cockpits - like an RV or even an F/A-18 - will find the mini easier to wield, easier to mount, and much less of a space invader.
This is a great Thread.
Thank you all for the info posted, it's really interesting to see the differences between Airlines and Procedures.
I pretty much expected a whole new set of strict procedures for the iPad, being the introduction of the iPad in the cockpit sort of a revolutionary one in the utmost conservative environment of flying professionally.
I am just surprised, given the topic, by the low amount, if any, of European people participating in it. I was just thinking that I have not heard of any EASA/EU-OPS/JAA Airline that has seriously considered the iPad as a real alternative to the Jepp bag, have you?
I have both..Since I've got the IPAD panel mounted I like that better strictly because of the size. I flew with the mini alone and it's fine, just a bit smaller.
I'm going to use the mini on the left to run a wifi gopro mounted in the wing landing light bay.
Since FAA is hyper cautious about iPad's in aviation, progress is slow, but MR has a nice update!
A Look at American Airlines' iPad Electronic Flight Bag.
Just a note:
Those paper charts and books (AF/D) must be replaced 4 to 5 times a year! Yes, the paper gets outdated very fast.
