ipad kinda big and heavy

I think the iPad is a little too heavy. Not because it tires my arms, but because it used to leave slight indentations in my hand if I held in the same position for a few hours, although that went away with one of the silicone skins.

It does *feel* a little heavy though. It's not exactly heavy, but it doesn't seem right. I don't know - it seems bloated, I guess. My brother-in-law's girlfriend just got a Nook Color and it weighs a pound - that feels right. Not too heavy, and not too light.

It could be a little lighter, yes, but I think the issue, isn't the weight, but the the strain it puts on your fingers, because of its thinness, ironically.
When in a case, the extra bulk makes it more ergonomic to hold, so your hands don't feel strain, clasping something so thin.
Like with the iPhone 3G/3GS, the curved back might be sacrificed, to create more internal volume(like the iPhone 4) and will allow room for an even bigger battery, more components and Be slightly more comfortable to hold for lengthy periods of time.

My girlfriend bench presses her iPad.

Whatever you do, don't get a teacup yorkie to carry around as a fashion statement. I don't think you could handle it.

I think the right cover helps quite a bit. While it does make it heavier, it makes it feel less awkward (to me). My niece and mom can handle it, so I don't think it is the weight, I think it is the way the back is shaped.
I agree shape has a lot to do with it. I read that they may make the back of the next model flat. I would welcome that change.

This is a joke right? If you leave ANYTHING In your hands for a few hours it will leave a mark. Try again dude.
