Jim can't officially confirm the date though. He can only unofficially confirm it as he is not Apple.

The article you wrongly suggested was incorrect didn't say that Jim officially confirmed it did you send an apology to macrumors yet for your unneeded and unwanted correction, to an article that was just fine as written?

Yes, I knew that.

If you knew I was speaking hypothetically, why did you feel the need to chime in to correct me?

Sorry, well I wasn't quite sure and kinda thought you might've guessed iMac and hadn't heard (since it was a quiet release). Didn't realize you were being sarcastic or whatever since there's 0% chance of newer iMacs coming out.

And that was in context with the other person I quoted, who thought new MBA's would come out cuz they're on backorder. But it's already on Haswell and so that didn't make sense to me at all. I feel like everyone is now just grasping at straws saying Apple is releasing new X, Y, and Z. They can't update everything all at the same...(plus from past events Apple doesn't even like to do that, since it dilutes their announcements)

Plus I still feel like Mac OS X on it's own should be the headliner, but I guess I'm in the minority these days...

Meaning Jony Ive. Took me a while to realize also.

Ha, it's all good. Sometimes I forget people here don't really know me, so I can't go assuming they'll assume I know stuff.

That's true. I admit I do that, sometimes. Every keynote I always cross my fingers that they'll bring us a big surprise. The Mac Pro announcement was pretty exciting, but only so much because I know I'll probably never own one of those any time soon.

I have a feeling this keynote will be mostly iPad, with possibly an announcement that we can now buy Mavericks in the App Store. IF there's a surprise, I imagine we'll see an updated Apple TV - just another box, not an actual TV. On a somewhat unrelated note, I don't really understand why people are gunning for Apple to release a full-sized television. The TV I have now is just fine, and I'll happily plug any peripheral Apple sells me into it. Want to put Siri in my TV? Put her on Apple TV. Gesture controls? Put a camera on Apple TV. It worked for Xbox-- okay, okay, bad example.

Plus I still feel like Mac OS X on it's own should be the headliner, but I guess I'm in the minority these days...

I mostly agree. I think the keynotes should be split into Macs, iPhones and iPod Touch, iPad, and Software (OS X and iOS.) You're not that weird for wanting that, many of us just get excited and come on here hoping we're going to get the last ten minutes of How the Grinch Stole Christmas from Apple.

Why so negative? If the tech is cool(hi-res screen is needed, using my girlfriends Mini is painful right now. Being able to pay for stuff in the future with Touch ID will be convenient) and people see the value in it what's wrong with wanting it? Brainwashing, really? Some people will complain about anything.

Yeah...this is exactly what I was pointing too...

My comment above...I think Apple is still a great computer company and makes the best personal computers in the world, that is why I still use them...

But the FOCUS of the company has drawn away from Personal Computers, what the company built its life-force and definition upon....

The "iToy show" I referenced above is the best way I can describe it, I see this as a fad more than anything that will pass with time...look at GameBoy, NES, Sega, etc....all of these things pass with time and so will iPad and iPhone...

The personal computer is something we will always use and need....it is still with us and there really isn't a replacement (Voice recognition/Holographic Projection?) We still need and use our computers daily....and I don't see them going away.

I just do not like the fact that Apple is riding the waves of the consumer fad-obsessions with micro gadgetry and turning this into their sole focus with their company's branding, advertising, and image....many people do not even know Apple as a computer company anymore but simply"Oh, that iPhone company" -- makes me sick.

iPod, iPhone, and iPad are what keeps Apple in business to sell iMacs and MacPros.

I am not sure if many people on these boards can remember the pre-iPod Apple when Apple *was* a computer company, and it *was* Apple COMPUTER Inc., but it actually wasn't so bad...and there was a lot of Apple pride back then.

I remember when the first Apple computer became available, and Apple would no longer be in business to sell you computers if they didn't sell iPods, iPhones, and iPads.
