iPad Mini 4 + Apple Pencil

Hey,
So I was very interested in buying the Apple Pencil... Until I realized it was only compatible with the iPad Pro. I am about to take a Digital Art class and I want to have a "stylus" that does a lot of the things that the Apple Pencil does, but for iPad Mini (4).
