haha.. Call it what u what,,, I still call it a big battery, takes up 3/4 of the device.

Detroitborg's review confirms new display has color gamut comparable to Air 2:

Its quite literally, a mini Air 2 now.

From the review, the mini 4 is basically what the iPad mini 3 should have been:
-A8
-More RAM
-Laminated display with Anti-glare
-Thinner

I so want one, but can't quite justify it. I've got a Mini2 retina and really, I mostly use it to read Kindle books. And it does that fine. About the only thing I miss is touch-id. Every time I pick it up I try to unlock it with my fingerprint like I do my iPhone 6. But that's hardly enough of a reason to spend the cash... so thinks my wife :)
She is probably jelous, bet she can't get 20% thinner ... LOL

Customers wanted longer battery life, so we decided to put in a smaller battery, so they can treasure every minute of their battery usage.

I know I may catch lots of flak for this but;

Do people really use their iPads more than 10 hours a day?

Btw, unlike the iPhones which are quoted to have about 10~12 hour battery life (you're lucky to get half), iPad really gets at least 10 hours.

I just don't understand the line about the iPhone. I routinely get 12-15 hours a day from my iPhone. And I have the screen on the brightest setting. What am I doing wrong?

LOL at people claiming slightly thinner is more important than battery life. It's not hard to spot the Apple shills.

get real. not everybody is the same as you. for instance, while reading an ebook the mini is still too heavy compared to a kindle. so thinner = lighter = better.

try to imagine you're wrong.

Weight (Wi-Fi + Cellular)

Weight (Wi-Fi + Cellular)
0.75 pound (341 grams)

So, this is 11% lighter than my iPad mini 2. I wouldn't mind it being quite a bit lighter yet.

I have iPad air 2...and felt like it's just another iPad...smaller. I prefer big screen anyway. I bought mini think i'll adapt to it...but meh.
I hear you, i'm tempted to get it but seeing as I have the air 2 I'm thinking if it's worth it or not. I would end up not losing one

yeah. If you're happy with air 2...i think that's good enough and move on...till next "big thing."

If you've got the Air 2 it's not worth it, unless you really, really want a smaller footprint and a bit lighter.

Loving it, great improvement over last two generations, it's super fast responsiveness, this one is the best iPad mini. Now replacing my iPhone 6plus with this and iPhone 6s, which I thought would be the iPad mini replacement, but the web browsing compromises on iPhone 6plus prevented it.

LIGHTER is more important in this case since it's a portable tablet.

Thinner is just an advantageous by-product.
