Nope. The iPad mini has 2x the screen area of the Pro Max.
Great for coaching things like Track and Field in conjunction with the Coaches Eye app. So portable and easy to use... Weigh and being able to use 1 handed big bonus!
I hope you are correct. I'd love to have a smaller iPhone (but with the best available cameras on it)....and then go with a small iPad in my cargo pocket.... maybe Apple makes a cool keyboard for it...hands free!
With over 7 billion people on earth, you don't get why some people might want a small tablet?
I don't get why people buy large tablets.... just a get a skinny ultrabook and get things done if you are already willing to haul a giant tablet around.
This is definitely a first day order for me. As with others, this will be an expensive year with planned Apple purchases 😁
Aside from the point that I think there's just some things that are better on an iPad mini (reading books, games, etc), there's also many people who want a larger screen for content consumption, but don't want to carry a massive phone in their pocket.

since their pro lineup is just ipad pro 11" and 12.9", they should keep the naming logic the same...ipad air 8.3" and ipar air 10.9"
They are doing the same with macbook pros...14" and 16"
you always pay more for portability and also extra features that cost more
A keyboard? How on earth would that work with an iPad mini.

Not sure what point you're making here; I'm saying that the people who always pop up in iPad mini threads saying "why not just get an iPhone Pro Max" seem to neglect that a) it's still much smaller than an iPad mini and b) the mini is about half the cost.
Obviously you pay more for extra features, but I don't know what that's got to do with anything.
If the new mini is 9 inches then the iPad mini 5 is my last iPad mini and I’ve owned every generation of iPad mini.
Very interested to see where the weight comes in. I'm getting it regardless but I'd be really happy if they could manage to keep it no heavier than the current iPad mini which is 300g/.66 pounds for the wifi version, and about 1.6x the weight of the Kindle Paperwhite which feels crazy light in the hand.
I would've bought this instantly 5 years ago but my requirements have outgrown this product now.
You obviously don’t read books. I on the other hand have over 500 books on my mini and only 11 games. And I surely prefer to watch the occasional movie on it instead of using the phone. I find it amazing that so many people here cannot grasp that. It’s not rocket science.
