This might be a good replacement for my 2018 iPad Pro if true. I just hope it has a decent starting storage capacity and the 120hz display.
This Mini will absolutely not come with an A15 chip of any kind.Looks great. If it comes with the A15 Bionic, which i suspect it will, i will trade in my Ipad Air 3 and pay the rest.
?
Not sure what point you're making here; I'm saying that the people who always pop up in iPad mini threads saying "why not just get an iPhone Pro Max" seem to neglect that a) it's still much smaller than an iPad mini and b) the mini is about half the cost.
Obviously you pay more for extra features, but I don't know what that's got to do with anything.
120Hz display is not happening either. Do people not realize the pathetic internals they've given the Mini's over the years. I mean, I wish it would come with an A15 and 120Hz refresh rate but that's just not happening. This might be a good replacement for my 2018 iPad Pro if true. No it’s not even close.Isn’t the iPhone Pro Max essentially this, or close enough?
Agreed. I always wanted a proper keyboard for the Mini but after using the 11” MKB for the iPad Pro, I can barely tolerate it. It’s better than nothing but it’s so cramped! I think I’d be better off connecting a larger keyboard via Bluetooth.A keyboard? How on earth would that work with an iPad mini.
it barely works on the 11 inch pro.
That's exactly what I'm saying!this is my 12 pro max and my iPad mini 5. The mini 5 is a lot bigger.
5 years ago we didn’t even have bezeless iPhones, Face ID or wirelessly charging Apple pencils.I would've bought this instantly 5 years ago but my requirements have outgrown this product now.
Yeah, but don’t worry, it is not. The next mini will probably be 8.36” and due to the lack of bezels, it will be as small as the current mini.If the new mini is 9 inches then the iPad mini 5 is my last iPad mini and I’ve owned every generation of iPad mini.
I’ve been almost 2 years using this 11” iPad Pro with the keyboard. It absolutely works.A keyboard? How on earth would that work with an iPad mini.

Agreed. My Fold 3 inner display is 7.6" with an 88% screen to body ratio. It is lighter than the current Mini as well. Needless to say, I've given my wife my 5th gen Mini. Why can’t they leave it 7.9 AND minimize the bezel area?
That’s the whole point of being “Mini”.
.
That’s making it more complicated actually.I still think they should call this the iPad Air 8.3, just keeps the naming simple.
I used to have an iPad mini 2 with some bt-keyboard from Amazon. Typing was really okay, as long as you didn’t have to use some of the special characters from the German language (ö, ä, ü) which were put on regular keys as secondary function.I’ve been almost 2 years using this 11” iPad Pro with the keyboard. It absolutely works.
However, I do understand it could be really difficult to reduce the keyboard further.
again your point is that ipad it costs less but with extra screen real estate...but , like i said, you pay 1000$ for extra features, and far better portability?

what are you saying? whats your point? that ipad has more real estate? of course, everybody knows that..That's exactly what I'm saying!
Yes I wouldn’t mind if it stays the size with minimal bezels. Why can’t they leave it 7.9 AND minimize the bezel area?
That’s the whole point of being “Mini”.
edit: same external size with wider screen would improve aspect ratio though.
.
again, people who buys an ipad ...already have a phone...so your point is strange thats why i was asking your point exactly....the ipad will always be a secondary device..less portability, less features and so on...its like a monitor, you can have a 27" display under 1000$ but no features at all?

This would line up well for an October release alongside the Macs. It still seems weird to break up the iPad releases by releasing the new base iPad today and the mini next month, but we shall see after today.

So i guess, people who are asking why not take an iphone max....i think they target those users who are in a transition of a device... want to change their phone.
