My fiancee just got the S4 a month or so ago against my recommendation (I recommended the moto x) and now she is kicking herself! She hates it and wants to go back to her iPhone 4! Lag is her number 1 complaint and I would have to agree.

come on.... thats bull... i have the S3 and it is super smooth, much smoother than my iphone 4.....

Our previous speculations continue to apply - more responsive devices may process touches earlier in the stack, poll for touches more frequently or have touchscreens optimized or calibrated to be more responsive. In our latest review of our test apps, we discovered an optimization that suggests that the GPU or GPU drivers in the devices might also add significant latency.

Well, duh.

The test consists of pressing a finger to a touchscreen, while wearing a pressure transducer that triggers at a certain amount.

So right off the bat, there's big difference between touchscreens and at what distance they fire a touch.

=

Then the touch causes the screen to fill, and a random placement of a light sensor picks it up and calculates how long it took from the "press".

Obviously GPU based screen fills matter, along with the sensor placement.

=

We also don't know how much time delay there is for the OS to decide if something is a press or the start of a gesture.

But, but, Samsung has a quad core processor

Wait till the US defaults on it's debt. And see how the most important capitalist nation crumbles through it's own doing.

I don't call China fully capitalist. If it was then it'd be the most important not the USA.

China owns our axxes. We'll never pay back all the money we owe them.
