I just wish they would release a full sized iMac.

I have been using a MacMini with a HawawiMate and it is the same width at the 27" iMac but it is about 4 inches taller and it is so much better than 16X10. The space is far more usable, but nothing beats the clarity if the Apple screens and I like the neatness of a one box solution. A studio display and a box sitting on my desk is a pain.

What do you mean by full size? The monitors just have different aspect ratios. 16:9 vs. 4:3.

I was in a local Apple reseller today and asked what’s happening tonight? I said you must have the posters and prep in. I said new m3 mac books he said maybe and imacs.

iPad mini! Yay!

An iPad mini 7 is a day one buy for me. I wish I would have gotten the Mini 6 256 cellular rather than the wifi 64. 64gb just isn't enough in 2023. The iPad mini may very well be my favorite iPad. It is either that or the 11".
I just bought an iPad mini 6 last week to replace my iPad mini 5 and I’m loving it. I wanted to upgrade sooner but then the rumors started to pile up about the mini 7 so I awaited the announcement, that never came.

In the event they announce a new one today, I’m hoping for Face ID and Apple Pencil hover support (and most of all 120Hz ProMotion but that’s the ultimate boner for me). I know that they aren’t that difficult in the US with returning devices, especially when a new one just came out but I’m not sure how my country’s policies are about that :/

Ahead of Apple's "Scary Fast" event on Monday at 5 p.m. Pacific Time, a regulatory database has potentially revealed at least some of the new products that will be announced, including new Macs and, dare we say it, maybe even a new iPad.

Last week, two Apple suppliers resubmitted filings to a Chinese regulatory database for batteries used in existing Apple products, including the latest 14-inch MacBook Pro, 16-inch MacBook Pro, Magic Keyboard for the Mac, and iPad mini, according to information discovered by MacRumors. All of the batteries had already been filed in the database in 2021 or earlier, and they were resubmitted last week with October 2023 issue dates.

Resubmitted battery filings can hint at new products. Just ahead of the Apple Watch Series 9 being unveiled, for example, MacRumors discovered that Apple Watch Series 8 batteries were resubmitted to the same regulatory database. Ultimately, the Series 8 batteries ended up being reused in the Series 9 models.

The new filings list the same battery capacities as the original filings, suggesting that Apple's new products will not have any battery capacity changes. Longer battery life is still possible as a result of new chips with power efficiency improvements.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman expects the 24-inch iMac to be updated with the M3 chip, and the Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, and Magic Trackpad accessories for the Mac are expected to be updated with USB-C charging ports instead of Lightning. Apple includes the Magic Keyboard and the Magic Mouse in the box with the iMac. Gurman also expects updated 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M3 Pro and M3 Max chips.

The interesting inclusion in the filings is a battery for the sixth-generation iPad mini, which could end up being reused in the seventh-generation iPad mini. Gurman last week reported that Apple was not planning to debut new iPads until 2024, and Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo last month said new iPads were unlikely to be released before the end of the year. The filing does not guarantee that a new iPad mini will be announced tomorrow.

Apple announced the sixth-generation iPad mini during its September 2021 event. The next model will likely be equipped with the A16 Bionic chip introduced in the iPhone 14 Pro, and it will likely have improvements to reduce so-called "jelly scrolling."

Rumors about new iPads being announced earlier this month proved to be inaccurate. Instead, Apple announced a lower-cost Apple Pencil with a USB-C port in a press release. The new Apple Pencil will be available in early November, according to Apple, and new products announced at tomorrow's event could launch around the same time.

All in all, our regulatory findings align with expectations of updated 14-inch MacBook Pro, 16-inch MacBook Pro, and 24-inch iMac models during Apple's event. Perhaps a new iPad mini will be part of the event, as well, but it would certainly be surprising given that Gurman and Kuo do not expect new iPads for the rest of the year.

We'll find out for sure in just over 24 hours.

Lol I'd live to see thr outake videos of the team scrambling to edit in the last minute accessories submitted to the FCC if approved ;)

That would finally come circle of Jobs telling us teams scrambling in the back to resolve technical difficulty of past wwdc presentations he was involved in.

If you bought it from an Apple Store you might be able to return it. Better get that information soon!

I'm with you: I'd happily pay a premium for Face ID, MiniLED and Pro Motion in the iPad mini (along with a better processor, better battery life, etc). I LOVE the size of the Mini but everything else is meh. I find the 11" iPad Pro too big for using as a handheld device so I would never buy one. I sadly suspect that Apple will keep treating the Mini as a mid-tier device, not cheap like the regular iPad but not premium like the Pros... :-(

Do I have to be the one to say it, you get product releases during the day. The only time you go for an 8pm prime time release is when you have to per SEC rules. So what ever apple has to say they feel will be material to the stock forward looking projection and need to do it outside of trading periods time.
What if it is a major announcement, like Tim Cook tells everyone he is retiring, and he is naming a replacement?

Im so curious to try a mini with cellular as an iPhone lite one of these days. If a new mini comes come out tomorrow, could they please start out the storage at 128 gb.
There was a YouTuber who did a week testing this. I can’t remember the title but a search for a few judicious keywords will find it. TLDR; it didn’t work for him.

Why not just put the M1 on the mini? That would be a nice package!. Last mini was advertised as a gaming machine, I hope they put a good graphic capable chip in there.

These a$$hats will add a usb-c port to the keyboard and trackpad and call them the most magical they’ve ever made

Is it possible they resubmitted new battery info for an iPad Mini in March? seems weird but is there any historical precedent for this?
