I feel like there will be a surprise tonight aside from the M3 reveal. The M3 is a 10-minute video about how great the M3 is, then the product line-up of iMac and MBPs. But that part is short since there's likely not much more to show than the processor upgrade and perhaps some gaming demos. Unless the peripherals have a new design, not much there either. iPad mini makes sense, especially since it's probably a popular holiday gift. Also, maybe a new Apple TV with a gaming focus. More expensive but smaller and cheaper than a PS5/XBox. As for Gurman, Apple is clearly his source for most of his reporting. So if they were the ones who told him no iPads at all, there probably won't be. Corporate communications pros don't lie. But it's possible they issued qualifiers like "no full refresh until next year" or "no plans right now."

didn't Kuo and Gurman say that there was going to be no iPad at the Event? Or are they wrong about that again? Thank you, MR for digging for rumors this time! Although it is strange that there is no Magic Mouse in those reports, maybe a redesign upcoming?
it was only a little over a week ago that they both said no more Macs and iPads for this year. Trust no one.

In April I bought a 16-inch M2 Max with 96GB RAM and 2TB space. I was so pleased. Why is it looking different now? :( How fast is scary fast?

Surprising to me that the 14 inch and 16 inch models might be upgraded even though they are less than a year old!

About an hour ago when you tried to do a custom order for 14 or 16 inch MacBook Pro in the Australian Apple Store it provided an in-store pickup date of November 29. Tried a custom order for iMac and it gave me the same date, November 29. I guess that‘s the release date.

or they're just doing that so you don't buy those for now, since they're literally announcing new models today

I would love an iPad mini that supports a Magic Keyboard, or even one like the 10th gen iPad has. Just something that is good quality, looks good, and works well.

I’ve had a mini for about a year now and have been looking since I got it for a keyboard but none seem to be good. I have a 16” M1 Pro so definitely don’t need anything “laptop like” but I’d love to be able to carry the mini in my jacket pocket for productivity and at work.

Maybe wait till the weekend when the xmas returns window should open & have 2 months instead of 2 weeks to check it out & return it if needed.
That's not a thing over here.
I've been without my Mini for 6 months. That's enough...

Do I have to be the one to say it, you get product releases during the day. The only time you go for an 8pm prime time release is when you have to per SEC rules. So what ever apple has to say they feel will be material to the stock forward looking projection and need to do it outside of trading periods time.

There isn't a release date for the new Apple Pencil, just around early November, the release date could be announced alongside the new iPad's, Apple didn't want to know when the New iPad's are coming. I expect the Mini and (Maybe Air?) to have hover since this Pencil does have it.

Possibly, but then even more reason to hold the pencil announcement back a few weeks.

I remember Kuo saying it, but can you please share a link to Gurman saying no more Macs last week?
This is from his October 15th newsletter;

"Apple makes progress on M3 MacBook Pros and Airs, plus new iPads. More often than not, the company debuts new laptops and iPads in October — about a month after the latest iPhone and watch get out the door. And while I reported in July that Apple was planning such a release this year, the latest indications are that it won’t happen this month.

A new entry-level iPad, iPad Air and iPad mini are all in development with faster chips, but I don’t believe updates of any significance are imminent. As I’ve reported before, new iPad Pro models with revamped designs, OLED displays, faster chips and redesigned Magic Keyboards won’t go on sale until next year.

On the Mac side, I do have a status update on two M3-based lines: the next high-end MacBook Pros and new MacBook Airs. The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros with M3 Pro and M3 Max chips have reached the DVT stage — short for design validation test. That means the machines are nearing mass production. The progress suggests a consumer release between early and spring 2024, matching the previous year’s timing.

Those waiting for a new MacBook Air will likely need to hold on a bit longer. I’m told that the 13-inch and 15-inch M3 models have just reached the EVT stage, or engineering verification test, which would put them on schedule for between spring and summer of next year at the earliest.

I still find it weird that the 14" and 16" MBP will be updated within a year. It is what it is.

I don't think Apple thought the Apple Pencil was exciting enough to put in the event, Early November is around the timeframe when the new Mac's launch (Nov 9th) it is possibly, espcially given the iPad Mini getting recertified, an iPad Mini is the most likely. (Hopeful for M2 Air, but doesent seem likely at this point.)
