The video stream requires Safari 4 or later on a minimum of Mac OS X Snow Leopard, or iOS 4.2 or later for those accessing the stream from a mobile device.
How about OSX ?
oh snap....guess I should read these things.

My guess is that they want to show off the capabilities of their data center and maybe announce that they're updating iTunes Match with greater abilities - ie, a song limit much more like Amazon's Cloud Player (250,000) and/or a Spotify-like service to go up against the upcoming Microsoft offering (which will have more music than iTunes currently has!), maybe even a Netflix-like movie service. Need a much more robust backbone to handle any of that, dontcha think?
Everybody is getting so excited about today; you can feel the tension on the streets!
It really doesn't get any hotter than this; if an iPad mini really is announced, my feelings are, as usual, the whole country is going to go carzy!
"It's as if millions of live bloggers suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced."
Sorry Engadget, Verge, etc. Your value just went down today!
NO WAY!!!!!! This is just a corporate media event. It is important to Apple and its suppliers and the retailers and the shareholders.
It should not be more important to you than school, which is your life.
Apple products are great, but they can't breathe for you, think for you, get you your first job, play a game of basketball for you, or start a business for you. They make great tools to help out.
Just go to the Apple Store or their online store soon after this media event and you will get all the info you need without having to watch a bunch of corporate execs wow you.
Unless you want to be a corporate exec, I find these events fairly boring and filled with hype, particularly after the map fiasco on iPhone 5 and Siri's limitations on iPhone 4s and AntennaGate on iPhone 4. It all looks great in presentation, but in the real world, the bugs present themselves.
So here's my lecture: Student, be prudent!!!! Go to school, enjoy your day, don't worry about the live stream of a corporate event, play some ball, pet your dog, kiss your mom and dad and have some fun, and don't be a sheep worshipping a company or a product....
And don't forget to brush and floss your teeth and wash behind those ears!!!!!
Now hurry along to school so I can get ready to watch my Apple event without interruptions!!!!
But I'm not going to install Safari on my PC just to watch an Apple event stream. Its another example of Apple being closed and attempting to force people to do things their way. Sometimes its okay and better, other times there is simply no reason for it. I believe this is the latter.
EDIT: Has to be on Mac OSX Snow Leopard or higher anyways. I don't have an iOS device at work (android phone), so I guess I'm SOL. Just have to make due with Engadget.
Woohoo can't wait. But I think it's ridiculous of apple making the live stream only available to those who own a Mac. I mean this is just another example of how closed source they are.
Really? I didn't notice last time. Wonder if it will be available for preorder tonight at midnight.
Happy days are here again!
Hey, what ever happen to the rumors about a dedicated Apple Tv, could this event possibly be it?
I'm assuming the stream works on Google Chrome, Firefox and Android too? I can't believe you can only watch it using Apple products... [/nerd rant]The video stream requires Safari 4 or later on a minimum of Mac OS X Snow Leopard, or iOS 4.2 or later for those accessing the stream from a mobile device. Streaming via Apple TV requires second- or third-generation Apple TV with a minimum of software version 5.0.2.
