In case there are any Mac users using Roccat here, usually apple events run fine on it so you won't need to switch to Safari, and if it doesn't work you can always go Roccat>User Agent > Safari 5.0.5 -Mac

Happy to help :)

I'm not sure if you can use a similar technique if you are using a different browser but i'm sure there are work arounds (I really dislike Safari incase you were wondering :p)

Can it be streamed on windows?

Nope, not if it follows the same setup as the 2010 music event. Got have anything from Apple that has wifi and be able to watch video. I will be watching on the Apple TV.

Speaking of, anyone know where to find it on the Apple TV ?

how is it catering your competition if you could reach 4 times as many people if they enabled the stream to work on windows. they are potential customers after all.

Yes if you want to bring down your server.

It's located next to the iTunes Live app, but if your ATV was sleeping it might take a couple minutes to show or just refresh your WiFi.

But I'm not going to install Safari on my PC just to watch an Apple event stream. Its another example of Apple being closed and attempting to force people to do things their way. Sometimes its okay and better, other times there is simply no reason for it. I believe this is the latter.

EDIT: Has to be on Mac OSX Snow Leopard or higher anyways. I don't have an iOS device at work (android phone), so I guess I'm SOL. Just have to make due with Engadget.

Microsoft does this as well, with silverlight.

It's redirecting because the proper address for the stream is not available yet. That's all.

AHA, found it! There's some instant re-direct to the other page that doesn't include Windows. So weird...is this some sneaky stab at Windows or what? I turned off Adblock and everything, don't see why anything on my side would make it redirect.

Anyway, I managed to screenshot it before it redirected:

Yeah, I don't think I have updated the ATV in a while so an update might be required. Should be able to get it all up and running before 6pm when the event starts.

Roll on iPad Mini :apple:

Very strange of Apple! Hope the site doesnt crash though :p Did anyone notice that the main event banner, the Apple logo varies in size. The stencil. I think this is a clear sign of the iPad Mini. ;)

And the Boring MEMO?

:p: So no one at Apple read that it no longer excites?
Why the fanfare?

:confused::?
;): Tech pundits say so, even the late Steve Jobs impersonator ( fake Steve )?

:cool:: So?

:mad:: We all DO know, thanks MacRumors, what will be introduced.

:apple:: We do?

Where on the site does it say you can view with Quicktime 7 for Windows?

I see this, "Live streaming video requires Safari 4 or later on Mac OS X v10.6 or later; Safari on iOS 4.2 or later. Streaming via Apple TV requires second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 5.0.2 or later."

No need to treat other people like dirt.

Basically: Not available to PC users.

Nice to see Apple will be streaming this live event and hopefully many from now on! I'll watch it on my Apple TV.

Sharply focused at the people who care about these things.

Where does it say that?

Can't you bring the developer mode in your browser and switch the user agent to safari? Just curious.

Uh. That is the stupidest statement ever. Safari, Itunes, Quicktime,etc are all available for a PC. lol.... So...ummm YES even PC users can tune in to this.
Think McFly. Think.

hello..hello.. anybody home ??

That would be like Google streaming Google I/O to Apple devices but not Android
That would be like Microsoft streaming the surface keynote to Android devices but not WP devices.

This is a little perk Apple is given us Apple users here. Most average consumer would just read about this in the newspaper or online.
