Thats odd, I haven't been able to see that. It doesn't really matter for me though because my internet at work is way too slow to stream it... and i am at work...

Its one thing to have a browser open with updates like on MR (or others) while I am working, and a completely other thing to have a streaming video of it instead.

I switched to Safari from Chrome which I have been using for the last many years. Not because of fanboism, but because I want my bookmarks and everything else synced to my other iOS devices.

But Chrome and syncing through Chrome/Google works on iOS.

Chrome on iOS may not be other things but the syncing aspect isn't really a 'show stopper'.

Network Stream URL

For us mac people that are currently away from our apple devices - once the stream is up and running if anyone can post the network stream URL so we might be able to watch it through other means that would be greatly appreciated.

THANKS!

From "currently missing my mac even more".

It's redirecting because the proper address for the stream is not available yet. That's all.

Still weird that they wouldn't include the Windows streaming requirements with the rest of them on the temp page though.

What's all this hubbub about anyway.

Didn't you all read over the past few months that there is NO ipad mini coming out?

I mean tons of posters here said they knew it and would never happen.

(seriously , are there big enough plates of crow available for all those folks ?)

Let's draw the venn diagram of people who have 1) No access to ANY of this Apple-made technology and 2) Need to see this event in real-time and can't wait the 2 minutes it'll take the bloggers to re-type the information.

Is there a large crowd in that overlap?

I think you underestimate the size of the hater crowd that feels they must watch for....journalistic integrity.

Uh dude...they tell you on THEIR site you can view with Quicktime 7 for Windows....

Get bent and go grab some brains. BTW I run both platforms so don't tell me I'm a MAC hater...

jeeze, how old are u? 12? take a pillow and relax. ...

speaking from experience a few years ago it wont work on Windows but i dont care either way.

Why is the store shut down? Would they start selling it right away?

Standard form. They don't want to deal with the crap storm of folks that ordered the old thing and now want to cancel it and get the new thing etc so they freeze all orders until after the announcement

And it gets them tons of free press on the blogs cause folks are goofy like that.

I dont want to use another browser on my iPad just for bookmarks. Want to use safari and the same goes for my iPhone as well.

I don't see any pitfalls in doing so as Safari is as good as chrome and I am not a big fan of extensions and themes and it works just fine for me.

Not to mention the reading list feature built into it.

Simple Question really, but why would the decide to do this now and not for the Iphone event for example, could this mean that Apple is looking at showing some cool new features based on Airplay or TV related features? I just find it odd that they would suddenly decide to re-instate the streaming again...

The last time they did this, the traffic nearly brought it down. They want to try it again so to be cautious they use the 'smaller' event and snuck it in at the last minute.

Frankly I'm a tad shocked they didn't limit it to mountain lion and iOS 6 and perhaps one step back on each. Just to keep things manageable

Uh. That is the stupidest statement ever. Safari, Itunes, Quicktime, etc are all available for a PC. lol.... So...ummm YES even PC users can tune in to this.

You think Apple would be dumb enough to allow only current users of their products to view announcements like this? Hell No! it would be smart of them to make sure PC users see this to try and convert them and have them buy Apple.

Think McFly. Think.

why is this the stupidest statement ever when on the apple page it says mac os x 10.6 or later. Im sure there are work arounds for sure but apple isnt offering to pc users if you can read, so who is stupid?

For those that can't watch, I will give you the overview:

1. iPhone sales - can't make them fast enough.
2. IBooks 3.0 will revolutionize education.
3. Thanks for coming.

hello..hello.. Anybody home ??

That would be like google streaming google i/o to apple devices but not android
that would be like microsoft streaming the surface keynote to android devices but not wp devices.

This is a little perk apple is given us apple users here. Most average consumer would just read about this in the newspaper or online.

its an "app" / widget on the apple tv dashboard

except its not the "stupidest statement ever" as its the truth lol you need an idevice or mac os x running > snow leopard. Doesnt work with quicktime nor safari on windows

Why does it say iPad Mini event on this thread? It's not just about the Mini..

they definitely need to raise the limit on the song count. I didn't think the 20k song limit would be reached, but apparently I have a lot of music on CD's.. haha

If they do then it will cost you more. No way are the labels going to let it be any other way.

Well they might let it go up a tad but not likely to as high as 250k. Not if they can help it. Not for the same $25
